Can't swallow the peroxide after gargling!

Can't swallow the Listerine either....but Peroxide tastes horrible and can be pretty painful (especially if you have irritated or sensitive gums)!

Wouldn't advise it but yes you can drink it and many alcoholics do. At least I personally saw it happen everyday in front of a store I worked at in college, it was in a strip mall that shared a parking lot with Walmart. Every day I'd have to ask them to not block the entrance and they'd be totally hammered with a giant jug of Listerine.

FYI:

1) This just cancels out your brushing because it washes away the fluoride, and

2) Many dentists (especially outside the US) advise not to use alcohol-based mouthwashes because they can cause dry mouth, irritate gums, and kill good bacteria.

Cancels out brushing? I brush to get the bits of food and slime off my teeth. Brushing to apply fluoride isn't.

Mouthwash first.

Brush second.

Ideally you're supposed to use a non-fluoride mouthwash at a different time of day, such as after lunch.
