Unfortunately, this is why people pay for Starbucks. They think it's a premium product because the alternative is apparently consuming stale, year-old grounds with their Mr Coffee. In which case, they are probably correct.
In my opinion, if you're gonna buy coffee in bulk, go for the freeze-dried instant stuff. At least that's been processed to sit on a shelf for this kind of time. Or just get some caffeine pills.
I understand that this product isn't at all for "coffee snobs," but this is like buying a oil drum full of milk.

BTW, Folgers isn't too bad. It has a slight amount of bitterness but has a decent amount of flavor and smoothness. The Starbucks House Blend I'm drinking right now is only slightly smoother and less bitter, and it cost about 2 to 3 times as much.
