I bought and returned this because it has no suction at all. You would have better results with a spray bottle and using a dry rag to soak up the solution.

I wouldn't take this if it was free, it's a nice idea for a product but it just doesn't work. Buy a corded portable unit for much better results.

I bought this last time the deal popped up. Surprisingly happy with the device. I was apprehensive as a lot of people said the suction is not very good. I found it extremely good. It doesn't have the suction nearly as good as my upright but for a handheld I think it is better than my spot bot that I had years back. The biggest thing is the fact that's battery powered. Yes it's not the highest battery voltage but it gets a job done. I haven't run out of battery yet and I've used it at the maximum on four 12-in diameter spots. I personally use the formula First and then once tank is empty and I sprayed my spots then I do water in the formula tank.

Seems like there's no winning.

Rented a big green vacuum, hoping it would be the answer to my prayers. Nope, wouldn't spray water out of the nozzle (only dribbled out).

Thought I could get a portable unit. Nope, apparently suction isn't enough.

Are there any good vacs that actually offer good suction, and spray water in a conical stream.

Just get a wet/dry vac attachment for 20 bucks and a spray bottle. You wont get a better vac than one of those and the dispensing of solution makes no diff. whether it's the machine or your non-dominant hand.

Our big green is amazing with very powerful spray and suction. I wonder about the condition of one for rent - the nozzles may have been clogged.

Probably.

It did the conical spray stream as expected for about 1 second, then just dribbled out after that.

Got two different hoses, and they did the same thing. So maybe just an issue with the vacuum itself (and not the hoses).

Had to resort to two spray bottle method (one with water, and one with diluted cleaner), sprayed the cleaner, used rotary soft hair brush, and then sprayed liberally with water, but didn't quite work out as well as I hoped. Was a bit crusty (which makes me think I didn't suck out enough of the cleaning solution).

Was really hard to tell, since the big green hose head wasn't clear, so I couldn't really see if it was actively sucking up dirty water (I'm sure it was to some extent, as the dirty water bin would fill up, but just not sure what amount per pass was actually being sucked up).

This thing leaks very easily and must stay upright at all times. I regretted purchasing this and ended up buying a different carpet cleaner to have something more reliable.

I have this and hate it. Suction isn't adequate to work well.

Eh, I used to do this and eventually bought a little 2-tank plug in spot cleaner (Hart brand slickdeal, but I believe it is mechanically identical to a hoover or bissel model). There were two main reasons:

1. It is a pain to go get the big shop vac from the garage and haul it upstairs to where my cat has thrown up. The spray bottle method is easy and it has great suction, but it is a hassle.
2. I don't like introducing moisture into my shop vac if I don't have to. That's how you end up with moldy/musty/stinky vacuum. But to avoid that, I have to empty it before using and then leave it open to dry out before I can put it away *(and some people may want to change the filter setup).

The little hart thing is easy and has pretty good suction. Heck, often I still just use the spray bottle and just fill the solution container with water (so I can clean and then rinse, and can leave that container full indefinitely). It easily fits into the upstairs linen closet and the dirty water tank is small so it is easy to empty and clean in the bathroom sink.

I don't really think a powered brush is necessary for a spot cleaner like this, but the even more portable battery powered nature and grab-and-go nature of the unit in this deal might be really nice if you frequently deal with small messes.

Please don't buy this thing. I saw a post that said, "I wouldn't take this if it was free", and I couldn't agree more.

Bissell customer support was also patronizing and replied 3 times that I must have simply put it together incorrectly when I reached out to them about how horrible it was. I was just flabbergasted a product from a seemingly reputable brand could be so horrendous.

well, bissell does not make the big green so I wouldn't let that skew other bissell products
