Working my way through it now, definitely worth the investment for the time I've already gotten out of it let alone by the time I finish. Plus I can turn around and resell the physical copy to recoup the cost if I feel like it (which I probably won't because I like the game enough to keep it).

Now if only we could get a Xenoblade Chronicles X sequel.. we need mech RPG games!

Price is good if you want it brand new, but it's under $40 used on ebay.

Recently got Xenoblade 1,2, & 3 CIB for $95 shipped. Seller had all 3,bundled to get better price.

Good game but the Switch graphic is not doing it justice. It is like a different game when you play it on an emulator at 4k 60fps.

Fantastic game! I recommend the whole series...really hoping for Xenoblade Chronicles X to come to switch (as well as a Xenoblade Chronicles 4 or whichever property or title that turns into Big Grin )

Emulation can render most assets at higher resolutions, pretty much everything that moves will look a lot better. Textures are usually for inanimate objects. Huds and text will be noticeably bad though.

How does it compare to xenoblade chronicles 1 (or definitive edition)? That's the only one i played. I skipped 2 because people complained about an over-convoluted storyline.

Funny enough I got bored playing 1 many years ago. Went for 2 when it was on sale. I really enjoyed the battle system and the story wasn't bad at all.
Don't ask me to recall the story though.

The game was doing dynamic resolution for all the objects on the screen to save performance on the Switch. You may have a good quality texture of an object but it may be rendered at like 540p, so you ended up losing half the details. Here's a comparion on the mountain and grass. The patches of grass didn't even show up in the console.

I was disappointed by this game. The combat is the same uninvolved action you see in MMORPGs. The only thing you're doing is watching your ability timers counting down so you can trigger them again and again. It was so dull. If the sequels are similar to this game, then I'll be passing on them.
