Just look at the ICE cars. I visited over a dozen dealerships from Toyota to Benz and everyone stick to MSRP. 1 has a 5k "warranty package" tag to the sticker. The Lexus and BMW sales said they may able to take 1500 to 2500 of a 65-70k sticker price.
Worst deal is Kia, Hyundai and Genesis. They simply don't give a F. There is no one servicing you.

From whom?
This is a US price cut-- where Tesla is outselling the next 19 car brands combined in EVs for the first half of 2023:
https://insideevs.com/news/689106...s-h1-2023/
Tesla is lowering prices because they can and because it's LITERALLY THE MISSION STATEMENT OF THE COMPANY to accelerate the transition to sustainable transport.

That's Teslas master plan.
Published in 2006.
6 years before Model S went on sale. 11 years before Model 3 went on sale.
It has 4 steps:
Build sports car (this was the roadster)
Use that money to build an affordable car (this was the S/X)
Use that money to build an even more affordable car (this is the 3/Y)
While doing above, also provide zero emission electric power generation options (this is solar and storage)
And that's exactly what they've executed against.
Tesla keeps getting more efficient at building cars, and they keep lowering prices to increase the # who can afford them as a result- all in direct service to the mission statement and plan published many many years ago.
Yet people keep acting surprised or pretending they're doing it over some imaginary "competition" that objectively does not exist (especially in the US market)

The high cost of a Tesla doesn't stop at its price tag. Insurance for a Tesla tends to be significantly more expensive than that of other popular vehicles, despite its high safety ratings.
Still, rates can vary drastically, even among different Tesla models. Below are the median annual insurance rates by Tesla model, ranked from cheapest to most expensive:
Model 3 ($2,574).
Model Y ($2,905).
Model S ($3,785).
Model X ($3,861).
Tesla car insurance for a Model 3 costs a median of $2,574 per year, or about $215 a month, our analysis shows. That's nearly 45% higher than the national median cost of car insurance.

I happen to have a bunch of boomer friends. The smart and educated love EVs. The others...simply just don't get them.
I don't own a Tesla but bought a Leaf last year. After driving an EV I hate to drive my gas car. I mean absolutely hate it... Can't even describe. But I'd still keep owning a gas vehicle for holiday drives to other cities, destinations.
EV is fantastic for City driving. I also have solar panels installed, so all my 15k miles I put in on my EV is less than a year have been free. I can never imagine free gas, and driving 15k miles in the city in my gas car would have cost me a fortune
Makes me wonder why Tesla doesn't just advertise more if they want to sell more. Cutting price will only anger the current owners who paid $20k higher about 1 year ago. Offering a lower interest rate would be better than slashing price by 2 to 4%.
