Or in other words, you're going to pretend to know the actual worth of the car. 😋
No need to pretend.

There is an upper bound of the min MSRP on the same model.

You don't need to know the exact value to verify an inequality.

I can't imagine what these cars will be worth in just 3 years when they flood the used market. Up until last year, EVs (including Tesla) were holding value pretty well. I knew eventually they would come down but didn't think it would be so fast. These price cuts are also relentless. Looks like Tesla is trying their best to flood the market with their cars so it's difficult for other manufacturers to make a dent in sales

Tax break is not subsidies....

Our Texan's governments also give huge tax break to Tesla when it moved to Texas.
also buyer incentives to up to $7500 tax savings from federal government that is more than any countries
"A subsidy is a benefit given to an individual, business, or institution, usually by the government. It can be direct (such as cash payments) or indirect (such as tax breaks)."
https://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/subsidy.asp

So when presented with evidence, your argument is simply "fake news"? I bet I know what channel you mostly watch.

Yes, Tesla got huge tax breaks as well in the US. Nobody disputing that. How in any way does that disprove that BYD received tax breaks?

I owned a Model X since 2017. Sold it to some poor soul last year. Besides the normal problems such as defective door latches trapping you inside a car(only able to leave from rear), rear door switches breaking, sensors not working causing the doors to not open, etc, there's a bigger problem where it tells me Tesla made these cars not to last a long time: the eMMC decision in the multimedia computer. It didn't come about until after the 4 year warranty expired. It was basically a stupid mistake of using subpar 8gb emmc memory with massive data logging in the car which causes them to fail. It was right at warranty end when this was known causing constant rebooting of the computer while driving. Why it wasn't a recall made it suspect at that time. They don't build their cars to last. Don't let the fan boys tell you otherwise.
8GB eMMC Recall
Tesla has decided to voluntarily and proactively recall some Model S and Model X vehicles to update software and to replace the 8GB embedded MultiMediaCard (eMMC) in the media control unit (MCU). This recall applies only to Model S and Model X vehicles built before March 2018 that are equipped with an 8GB embedded MultiMediaCard (eMMC) in the MCU that may experience a malfunction due to accumulated wear. Model S and Model X vehicles built on or after March 2018 are not equipped with the 8GB eMMC and are not affected by this recall.

The more cars are electronic and less mechanical, the less durable they will be compared to their mechanical counterparts (at least Toyota). Capacitors, power supplies and ssd memory has limited lifespan. They are making future cars far more disposable than than cars of the past. Even with gas savings, lifetime cost of ownership is questionable in value compared to a mechanical versioned Toyota. Also with climate change and record heat waves, regions with long duration heat and humidity will no doubt degrade these electronic cars and their batteries far more than what you think. These cars may have the best lifespan in California with it's temperate weather, but in all other regions, expect it to be worse.
Less moving parts = longer life with less maintenance

I wonder if I should trade in my model 3 for model y. I hate all the interior noise from model 3.
Is Model Y better in terms of noise? I am thinking of getting one of these.

Kinda crazy that my 2021 SR+ Model 3 was $38,990 in 2020, and at the peak in 2022 it was worth almost 50K. Now I'd be lucky to get 25K out of it. Gotta love it! Stick Out Tongue

Did insurance ever go down on Teslas?

I mean for non-Tesla provided insurance that doesn't track your driving habits which also restricts you from driving late night as most accidents happen late at night.

Are Teslas built that bad? I'm considering an electric car.
I got my model Y a few months ago and we love it. We don't have any issues with road noise (I'm usually listening to music anyway). The 1 issue we had was with the 7 seat (rear seat wouldn't unfold), but we got that resolved with no issues.

Also, I feel like people tend to forget that Tesla is still a car, it doesn't magically eliminate maintenance or the need to do it. I still have to do maintenance on my ICE vehicle.

However for us the convenience of not having to go to a go station and that I can just charge in my garage can't be beat. It's a daily driver for us and I almost want another one.
