For leases, does Tesla pass the $7500 on to the customer? Many automakers do but I've seen very conflicting info online.

I was seconds away from buying one for $70,000 a year ago. Literally double the pric. Slightly better spaced, but holy $#@&# that would have been the worst financial decision of my life. Depreciating 30k in 1 year.

No, from their calculation for lease, the $7500 saving does not pass to customer

Are Teslas built that bad? I'm considering an electric car.
I have had a Mach-EV for about two years now. The overall build quality as well as the tech seems better than Tesla. It has Apple CarPlay support which is awesome. And has Bluecruise hands free driving that is 1000x more reliable than Tesla's autopilot or FSD. Hyundai makes good EVs too. You may want to check out and test drive the non-Tesla EVs yourself to compare.

Dude, i have model Y and its the same for me
I also have a 2022 MYLR and love it. There is lots of noise in other vehicles but you don't hear it over the sound of the ICE running. My car is relatively quiet. I love not having to go to the gas station, charging at home.

I'm paying for convenience, and technically saving some money on gas. My wife made the comment the other day when driving our Toyota Tacoma that "pumping gas is stupid and i don't like doing it anymore". When we bought the Toyota Taco, i seriously considered buying another Model Y but performance instead. We opted not to because having the small truck would be beneficial where we live versus another car. I work from home and have had the Taco for about 4 months and have just now put 1,000 miles on it.

If i was buying another new car today and had the ability to have a charger at home, i would 100% buy another EV. At this point that EV would be a Tesla because they have far and away the best charging network. Once the other vendors get on board with the NACS (tesla charger), it might become a different story.

I owned a Model X since 2017. Sold it to some poor soul last year. Besides the normal problems such as defective door latches trapping you inside a car(only able to leave from rear), rear door switches breaking, sensors not working causing the doors to not open, etc, there's a bigger problem where it tells me Tesla made these cars not to last a long time: the eMMC decision in the multimedia computer. It didn't come about until after the 4 year warranty expired. It was basically a stupid mistake of using subpar 8gb emmc memory with massive data logging in the car which causes them to fail. It was right at warranty end when this was known causing constant rebooting of the computer while driving. Why it wasn't a recall made it suspect at that time. They don't build their cars to last. Don't let the fan boys tell you otherwise.
Yea eMMC or even SD isn't meant for so many read/writes. That's why they always fail in security cameras

Should also mention that if you use a referral code from a current tesla owner, you get $250off and 3months of full self driving

Do you even realize how much just the EV battery is helping destroy the climate on earth ?

No, and neither do you- though you might be imagining some misinformation that makes you think that.

(or you're somehow unaware how much WORSE fossil fuel extraction and use is)

Elon's dropped the car's price by $2k, that's more than the previous referral bonus of $500, still he's giving $250.
Inventory discounts are lower now than previous through, so net-net the price hasn't moved a ton from this.

They do not pass the credit through on leases. They also don't allow you the option to purchase at the end of the lease- you have no choice but to return the car.

Buying is a massively better deal than leasing generally here.

Is there a work around for the $7500 credit if income limits are exceeded? I believe the typical lease work around doesn't work with Tesla if we are interested in purchase because they do not allow purchasing a leased vehicle, is this correct? Is there a way to get the credit through a company (i.e. setup an LLC or something)? Thanks.
If you can find a 3rd party lease company that will lease you a Tesla and pass through the credit that gets around income limits- but you'd need to find such a company (I know they exist but no details on who/how/etc)

You mentioned crappy EV companies Rivian and Lucid [google.com], they are crappy American company

Uh...might wanna double check who the majority owner of Lucid is LMAO

(spoiler- it's Saudi Arabia)

Quote from cgigate :
actually it is BYD in China.
If you don't know , now you should know!
Actually, it's not-- unless you count hybrids-- which nobody should. If it has an internal combustion engine it's a dinosaur and going away.... On strictly BEVs Tesla was still #1 last quarter (and that was a quarter that had lower #s than otherwise due to factory retooling). Still, BYD is solid and the only real, actual, "competition" in the space these days-- though they don't sell cars in the US.

I love my 2020 model y. It's a joy to drive. The tech is neat and is improving. My car drives better now than when i bought it, thanks to the many software updates over the years. No other car can do that. The model X is a much more complex car with a lot of tech. Arguablely, given how young the company is, it's admirable how much they have improved over the years.
