Replacing the battery is likely to cost you more than the car is worth. Life expectancy of the car is about 10 years, objectively. Fit and quality control are awful, too.
Batteries are going to get cheaper. Plus refurb batteries are going to be more common. I saw a salvage battery for a Model Y on eBay for $5k last week.

Why not Chevy Bolt EUV with same range and much lower price?
Dangerous tail lights. I don't want to get rear ended.

It reduces the amount of taxes you owe, meaning if you owe the IRS $10,000, you only need to pay $2500.

Please refrain from leaving comments on things you don't know anything about.
Totally agree with you, I called my CPA to find out, she said if I make the same money this year I would qualify for the full amount.

The OP is incorrect. Yes, the price for the base model dropped to $43,990, but it is no longer AWD, and it is not a 330mi range. It is only 260 miles, and it is now a rear-wheel drive model for $43,990. A very misleading post.

Everybody thinks they save money driving a Tesla, but nobody will tell you the cost of insurance negates everything
1. Depending on state, EV car registration is higher than comparable ICE car.
2. Wall charger installation and wall charger

Don't forget, sales tax is compute off of the sales amount and not post-tax-credit

$1390 destination fee and $250 order fee are joke, LOL
So how many new cars don't have any destination charge/fee?

Honda are reliable cars BUT they have shitty paint job. Their clear coat sucks. I know cause I had a civic, accord and an element. I clay, polish, sealed, waxed. Nothing will prevent it from oxidizing and peeling. There should be a recall on their crappy paint job!!!
Acura (Honda) joining post. My car had crappy paint too despite garaging it and taking care of the exterior

Yea. Not going to trust a salvage battery from eBay.
It's pretty much the most important part of an EV and most critical.

This is demonstrably untrue.

Given a two premium brands at the same price range, the Tesla will cost an average of 25% more to insure.

Google.
Well, I'm looking at my insurance policy right meow. My Tesla insurance is $5 more than my ICE car.

I lease a bolt ev and not recommend it. It charge slow, the battery degraded at around the 15 months, the seat are not comfortable.

I remember people racing to buy the last "deals".

These cars are cool toys but don't hold up long-term.

Get a Honda or Toyota. If you know, you know. If not, keep on enjoying your money pits.

Hybrid is the best of both worlds IMO. Especially plug-in Hybrid.

Also Musk is fraud and lies almost continually about what these cars can do, from range to full self-driving.

My insurance is about $1,100 a year. That's about the same as a ICE car.
Which company? What's your coverage?
I asked my insurance company, State Farm, and the full coverage for model X is 3600/yr.
