How much insurance you guys paying for Tesla cars, just curious.
My Model S costs me less than $1100/year for full coverage in Virginia with Erie insurance, who I also have homeowners with. It's really not bad. But probably varies a lot state to state and based on your driving history.

Cars without a soul. There's so much wrong with the electric cars not just Tesla. Glad to drive my reliable gas car with zero issues.

What do you do with a car that's 10 or 12 years old and needs a new battery that costs half the price of the new car? Who would buy a used Tesla? Or any EV?

Any link for this?
How can Ford loses 60K per EV if the EV itself is less than 60k?
If you buy a banana for $10 and resell it for $1 how much did you lose?

So what's the conclusion with the battery and superchargers? Does supercharging ruin the battery faster, as opposed to charging it slowly, etc.?

Need a sounding board..

Currently with a 2017 model x 100DL
115k miles (24000 a year)
248 on full charge battery
Free unlimited supercharging fit life
Just upgraded mcu

This is my second (upgraded from S)

Worth a trade In for new MY?

Thoughts?
Depends on your use case. Model X is bigger so if you need the space no. Also if you use your free supercharging a lot (frequent road trips or can't charge at home/work) giving that up is a big downside. Also presumably you know if your X doesn't have problems, you don't know if a new car (a Y, any other Tesla, or any other new vehicle will) will or won't.

The range is probably similar, though the Y is more efficient if you're paying for all the electricity rather than getting it for free. The X will be noticeably faster. The second screen on the X is a plus, and the stalks. The X will have more comfortable suspension and will probably be quieter. The rear doors are cooler.

But a brand new Y will have newer tech, will charge faster with less charge needed to drive each mile, and will come new with zero wear.

I'd probably keep the old X unless you really prefer a smaller vehicle and care about the small difference in per mile efficiency.

Every car purchase carries some form of risk. If you buy a 10 year old Accord, you're hoping that the original owner was vigilant with oil changes.

I would bet that EVs should be a little easier to evaluate when used, especially for a layperson. If you can talk the owner into letting you take a 10-20 mile test drive, you can probably get at least a snapshot of the battery health.

What a POS. Tesla has dropped prices 25k in less than a year.Everyone who bought every previous "deal" is probably underwater on their loan. Buy at your own risk and be willing to loose your dignity and equity. Huge depreciation headed your way.
"Underwater on their loan"? This term doesn't apply to cars because they are not an investment that appreciates in value like a house. People buy cars because they want to drive them, not because they expect to make money off the investment.

Literally everyone who purchases a new car is underwater on their loan. All new cars lose about 20% of their value as soon as you drive them off the lot. Even if you buy a used car, it will depreciate each year and probably be worth less than your loan value before long.

Have to TD on principle. Their price shenanigans have made my loan higher than what the car is worth new now 😄

I get repairs in my driveway within 7 days or at the service center for more serious repairs, always within a few days. I get $100 in uber credit and it's a breeze. 1000% better than stealerships
So it takes 7 days to get them out? Neighbor has a Tesla near me here in Walnut Creek and they are booked WAY out. I called them and found it true.

The title is misleading. The $43,990 is for the RWD single motor that has a 260 mile range. The Dual Motor Long Range with 330 mile is $48,490.

I just got a model 3 last month. I'd read of the noise complaints, but honestly, my wife and I are impressed with it being quiet.
Haha, you going to be called a Tesla fanboi. Seems like if anyone tries to tell others that they have a reliable fun car that doesn't burst into flames etc and actually like their teslas is a fanboi

Yes, Model 3 Performance has about the same 0-60 acceleration at half the price,
with MUCH faster 0-30 acceleration. M3P also has a higher top speed at 162 mph vs 155 for the M3.

For me that means it's a LOT more fun.
I do agree with most of your points though.
haha maybe that was a bad comparison.... I just say because its the one I get the most. I have a performance model 3 and my friend has a new awd m3 so hes always trying to 1 up me.

Don't get me wrong, I love my model 3 performance however from a car enthusiast perspective an EV can never parallel the experience of a pure sports car like an m3.The sensation of shifting through the gears and hearing the roar of the engine with the turbos spooling up makes for an incredible experience. Yeah, instant torque from EV is nice but it doesn't have too much flavor if that makes sense. You step on it, next thing you know ur at 80 and then ur done. When I drive pure sports cars like his m3 the adrenaline starts as soon as I turn the car on. It feels like a rocket getting ready to launch.

But then again, you have to look at it from the perspective of practicality. He bought his car to drive for fun once a week. I bought my car primarily to commute daily and travel long distances while relaxing, and in addition I get to have some fun with it.
