Theres plenty of model S that are over 8 years old. Model 3 is 2017, so you have people with 200,000 miles on it, which is close enough to 8 years/120,000 miles. Its NCA battery chemistry like the first model S. Ironically this is more time tested then most gasoline engines in a new gasoline car.
I feel sorry for your lack of understanding of pretty much everything...

The battery vs ICE argument is old shoe. The bottom line is, it's only slightly more efficient to "burn" electricity stored in a car battery vs. Gasoline after you factor in all the transmission, conversion, and storage losses, plus the more efficient power plant generation. There isn't good math for all the mining and manufacturing for the batteries.

The cost of lithium and other battery tech minerals and metals is regulated by the open market, just like oil. One difference is the US (tha ks to fracking - like it or not) is one of the worlds largest suppliers of oil, but we don't have much lithium. So, China and other nations will soon have a strategic stranglehold on the materials required for electric cars.

Electric vehicles make up a small percentage of all vehicles in the world. If that changes, so too will the economics and politics.

Where I live, I still can't get an electric vehicle because there are not enough reliable charging stations that actually charge quickly.

All that said, I will never purchase a vehicle that can be disabled remotely or have functions and features disabled remotely by anyone after I purchase it.
Look at your house. I'm not sure where you charge your phone, but you can use the same socket to charge your car... maybe.

Adding the extra mining. It takes about 3 years of driving to equal the fuel car. Most ev last more than 10 years has about 10 percent degradation. Try to pick one with thermal management. Europe just found a few giant mine for battery material, and the US has a couple of more difficult to extract mine. If you want to stay away from China, you need to choose to buy battery that is made of more material not mine in China. That is why you have the federal tax incentives on ev. Read the percent battery part... it is written to promote that. So pick the car that has the incentive would be good in your mind.

I am not sure why you are pushing frackin. Short sighted. Most bigger oil counties are moving toward all electric because they see the end is near.

I am not sure why a slickdealer wants a game with microtransaction. Make you have to pay money every months to play. I would rather pay more for a game and not have to pay monthly.

Did you mean the wipers for Teslas cost insane amount?
you do understand tires and brakes wear out and parts like windshield damage would cost 1000 to replace because of sensors and brand.

other cars 300-350 dollars other factors as well such as higher insurance rates.
shrug when you know you know. HF run this forum now the deals are so so.

I'm looking to purchase a Tesla for myself and one for my sister. Is the 7500 tax credit stackable? Meaning will I get 15000 in federal credit?

Of course I pick up my new MYLR7 about 6 hours before they announce the price drop.

Still feel good as it was an in-transit inventory car showing a $4650 discount and referral was still $500 off, so still a good deal.

Never thought I would buy an EV, but with all the incentives it was hard to pass up.

Looks great next to my deleted and tuned X5 3.5D

Again that isn't factual either, Gasoline engines are re-used in various models and manufacturers. our 2019 hyundai santa fe 2.4 first started in a 2009 hyundai sonata. The 3.8 hyundai palisade/Kia telluride engine is a bored out version of the 3.3l in the kia sorrento of 2014. most engines are tested for over a year before production, but most engines already have a track record… the battery degradation of the tesla are the more concerning part plus when parts go out in the doors (say a window regulator), i've heard tesla will only sell you a new door to avoid the labor of replacing just one part. hopefully someone who owns one can confirm

Foo, come back to us when you get 1 mil. + on your ODO which some ICE cars made decades ago have already done. Tesla is not breaking ground on longevity. A Corolla can outlast a Tesla. And Tesla makes the opposite of an "appliance" which is why they got to charge a premium all these years.
Yeah, but you would driving a Corolla.... nuff said.

Shall Intrade in my Lexus RX350 for Model Y long range ? I don't drive much and I love drive quality of Rx350 but I love tesla tech so I am confused.
I have a model 3, we have had an S and Y in the family. We've also had the rx350 like 10 years ago. The buttery soft ride and quietness of the Lexus is still way above the more sporty, harder ride of Tesla's. It's really up to you, regarding what type of ride quality you like. My wife much prefers the ride of our odyssey than our model 3. She doesn't care much for rapid acceleration and tight planted turns, she's not much for wind noise and random squeaks/creaks coming from the car, haha. I'm the opposite, the model 3 reminds me of my old wrx from 20yrs ago.

I don't understand car drivers who brag about putting 100000s miles on their car.

While you are saving money, you're also driving an old car with old tech and old safety. I won't even talk about worn out surfaces and smell...even a new car at three years starts getting a little gamey.

Driving a new car is almost always nicer, so who cares how many miles a car will last...it's like talking about my iPhone. I'm getting rid of it within three years or less...

This is Slickdeals...not frugal living or the pennypincher.
