just hold out the model 3 highland or if you're patient wait for the model y jupiter.

current model y is noisy as hell also
I test drove the newest version and its really quiet... I have a 2018 model 3 and was really tempted. My wife wants a car next yr so I'm holding out for her tp get the Juniper Y. But I reiterate the latest Y is a big improvement over previous Y/3

Why do only couples under $300,000/yr joint get the federal tax credit?

Pretty unfair to anyone living in a HCOL area like SF/NYC/Seattle/DC where that income is pretty much required to live in any comfort for a family.

Yes but on average Tesla insurance is far more expensive.

Not for me. I went from a prius to a 3 and my insurance wet up 4 bucks over six months

You are serious oblivious to what information is out there.
I mean, I provided a bunch of current, as in within last couple weeks, sources debunking every claim you've made.

So I agree someones oblivious but it's clearly yourself.

Quote from CTRFK8 :
. Yes the semi truck is experimental
You keep using that word.

I do not think it means what you think it means.

Quote from CTRFK8 :
Do you think when the FDA approves a drug they don't experiment on rats first before moving onto human trials. Well same thing can be said here where Pepsi is the rats and the real consumers will be the humans.

do you... think normal consumers buy semi trucks to just drive around town or something?

Quote from CTRFK8 :
And the word experimental is a correct word to be used in this situation where the semi truck is not yet a viable option to replace diseal trucks anytime soon
But we just showed you it's exceedingly viable.

It's already been driven over 1000 miles in a single day-- debunking your nonsensical claim it's limited to 300-500.... and it's recharging in under 1 hour, not the nonsensical 22 hours you claimed.

And costs are, and again I provided a recent source, over 80% lower than operating a diesel semi.

Quote from CTRFK8 :
but maybe in your parallel dimension where they have all electric battleships and tanks.
I mean- I already cited to you the most advanced destroyed in the US navy is electric... that all our submarines for over a century are electric...

As to battleships, well, I know you prefer your info decades out of date, so perhaps you're unaware the Navy retired their last one in 1992

Quote from CTRFK8 :
National Renewable Energy Laboratory (.gov)
https://www.nrel.gov ' docsPDF
Charging needs for electric semi-trailer trucks

So first- your link does not work. Here's one that actually does-
https://www.nrel.gov/docs/fy23osti/86549.pdf

Second, did you actually read it? I ask because it clearly states

Quote from YOUR source :
Finding: Current/Near-term BEVs suited for many heavy
truck applications
Which seems the exact opposite of your insistance they're nowhere near ready to replace diesel trucks.

It goes on to state average shifts for all operating segments of the industry can be handled by electric trucks without even needing en-route charging, just off-shift charging.

Then it cites the off-shift charge speeds needed... and they're no faster than the normal superchargers Tesla has already been deploying for years and years. In fact they're slower (the max they list is 140kw, Teslas V3s are 250kw, and V4s are rolling out now).

En-route charging would only be needed for the longest, way above average shifts.

For that they suggest the fast charger would need to be able to support a total range of 900 miles in a day.

And you've already been shown Teslas existing mega chargers support the existing truck doing over 1000 miles a day

So...I guess thanks for posting an almost-working link to yet another source directly debunking every bit of your own FUD? LMAO

(though why you're even discussing the semi in a thread about the Model Y is.... yet another mystery of life I guess....)

Yeah, it's tough for people earning over $300k. Maybe they could register as a charity?

If it makes you feel better, I could now get the Model y for only marginally higher price than I paid for my Toyota RAV4 hybrid last year.

EV semis are going to be awesome when they have chargers setup at the docks. Then they're recharging while being unloaded. Companies with fleet vehicles can set this up and get really nice benefits from it.

1. Why do you need a 1000 mi EV car? Does your 2023 Tahoe give you at least even 500 mi?

2. 99% of the Tesla super charging stations are not at Walmart parking lots.

3. If you're in $300,000, you should not be getting a tax credit. You and everyone else thinks it's a rebate. It's a tax credit!!!!?

4. Now you are asking for too much. Swappable batteries? It ain't a flashlight.

Enjoy your 2023 Tahoe!!

If the income is lopsided so one spouse makes a lot of money but the other does not, then you should be able to get the tsla fed tax credit by filing as married filing separately if the car is bought by the spouse making less money. No?

I purchased a Mazda SUV. Really wanted a Tesla but the range is just too low right now. I will get an EV when there is 450-500 miles. Because I do travel a lot for leisure. I hope soon there is a car under 50k that gives 450 or at least 400 miles

Eh, if they are close in income it may not be worth the headache to split everything out. Just saying for a family of 4 in HCOL areas, that income is good, but not luxurious/rich by any stretch as the feds imply with the cutoff.

These tax rules always seem to target middle class wage earners instead of wealthy business owners who can deduct everything personal under the sun.
