Just like Apple advertises, charge inflated prices for their I-phone or I-pads knowing their product is not worth that much and then 6 months later drop the prices in half.

It's all because they can and the lemmings fall for it everytime.
when did iphone prices drop in half after 6 months? pixel phones may be but iphones pretty hold their price for months unless you are referring to buying them with carrier contracts.

6 months a year who keeps track? But the prices drop dramatically after it hits the market. The most famous where the I-pads . I had friends buy the latest I-pads only for Apple to bring a "new" version out 6 months later and dropped the current I-pad in half. And geuss what, the lemmings went out and bought the latest I-pad.
Bottom line is provide a product , create hype, over charge, rinse and repeat.

Well this comment thread has devolved into people writing War and Peace replies back and forth to each other. Always a sign to check out
That is EVERY SINGLE Tesla thread though. A handful of these people, all they do is this same back and forth in every single thread. Its entertaining at first and then it gets old and boring really fast.

I wonder if I should trade in my model 3 for model y. I hate all the interior noise from model 3.
It's not better on the Y.

Test drove the Model Y Long range with both 19" and 20" wheels. Unfortunately, it's not for me. Ride in the back seat is very bumpy. Wife and kids are not at all happy with the ride quality. First test drive was with Chill mode and Creep switched off. Felt nauseous and car sick in a 30 min drive. Next drive was with Chill mode and Creep turned on (next day). Still felt a bit nauseous. Is this normal? What am I missing? Is this something that only a few people experience. Searching on YouTube for "Tesla car sickness" shows that quite a few people experience this. What am I missing and any pointers on how to address these issues? Thanks

Avoiding the costs of an ordinary oil change is enough for the majority of individuals to purchase a Tesla. However, there's a probability that the typical Tesla hardware repair cost will exceed the money you save on standard vehicle maintenance. Tesla repair expenses, according to RepairPal, are 27 percent higher than those for comparable gas-powered vehicles. According to the same report, the average annual repair cost for a Tesla vehicle is estimated to be $832, compared to $652 for a vehicle on average.

What accessories did you install if any? Especially interested in the floor mats. There are so many out there so its hard to choose one.
I seen a few in this video I would get if I owned a Model Y.

Is it safe to say this deal or current offer is good till end of the year? Do you have to get delivery before end of 2023 for the 7500 tax rebate. Is it 4500 next year?

How can you say a car that's only been available for four years last forever? Have you heard of battery degradation. In 10 years from now your battery range will be closer 200 miles if it still works. On top of this you aren't exempt from bearing replacement, tie rods, control arms and bushings. We have no idea how long these will cars will last.
Sorry but your argument does not hold up even at a basic level. I have a 2013 Model S and have only a handful of issues that needed to be fixed. Its a solid 10 years old and at this point my battery degradation is less than 10%. I also have a 2022 F150 lightning which is great but the usability of the technology is not on par with Tesla. Even an old tesla. If you want to keep one of these cars for 20 years and drive 12k mile a year you absolutely could.

Hmmm, I really don't get the ride quality and noise comments for Model Y. Mine was built in Fremont and has 21 inch rims. I have absolutely no problem with the ride quality or noise. I know the suspension was recently tuned by Tesla for a better ride about 8 months ago or so. I picked mine up in July.
I would definetly take a test drive first if you're worried, but I don't think it's near as bad as some of these comments make it seem. I came from a Bolt and a Volt to my Model Y Performance.

The $7500 tax credit does not change through Dec 31.

As of Jan 1 it changes in several ways already discussed in the thread, but the main points are:

Good changes:

Credit is now available at point/time of sale so acts like you gave the dealer $7500 more in cash as a downpayment when you take delivery

Credit is no longer limited by your tax liability, effectively making it refundable for folks who previously did not have enough tax liability to get the full benefit

Potentially bad change:

Some models/trims might have the credit reduced to $3750 due to using batteries sourced from China. There is no clear info on which ones FOR SURE, and Tesla could always change battery sourcing to adjust this some, but most likely to lose the extra $3750 would be the RWD/standard range 3 and Y, with the LR AWD 3 being next most likely.

NOT changing:

The income caps (150k single, 300k married filing jointly) remain in place, if you're over that (you get to use either the year you buy or the previous year whichever is better for you) then you get $0.00 in credit-- and if you took the $ as point of sale you will have to pay it back- possibly with penalties- when you file.
