Couple of adds:

1) Weird that I didn't get this email from them, I've been on their list for a while and have purchased several items in the last 12 mths. 🤔

2) If your new or relatively newly getting into cooking or cookware and are OR WILL BE cooking for more than two, people, I highly recommend consider purchasing one of the following, it will likely become your most often used and best pan

- 12-In. Fry Pan / Stainless - Packaging Damage $69.99 (note, no lid. same pan with lid is also currently available for a little more $ if desired).

- 12.5-inch Skillet / D3 Everyday - Second Quality, $99.95 (more cooking area, contoured handle I greatly prefer over the straight handled version).

- 12-in Fry Pan / D5 Stainless Collective Cookware - Packaging Damage at $99.95 (heavier and thicker pan, some people prefer the 5 layers, I find them unnecessary in my experience).

- 12-in Fry Pan / D5 Stainless Collective Cookware - Packaging Damage $99.95 (amazing deal for this pan, it's the heavier D5 version, brushed exterior finish some prefer, vs the shiny/mirrored finished, contoured / bent style handle I greatly prefer)

- 10.5-In Fry Pan / D3 Curated - Second Quality $69.95, (smaller, lighter pan, amazing quality, contoured / bent handle, no lid, fantastic deal).

And probably to some, the most important thing!

3) Stainless Steel cookware IS NOT, NON-STICK COOKWARE.

It's actually used SPECIFICALLY to help sticking to develop crust on proteins and then to release that crust with liquid which creates a super flavorful, readily available liquid / sauce, it's called "fond" search it up on the interwebs and be a MUCH better "cook" because of it.

Promocode worked for me. But i'm going to wait for a better deal. $89 new from macys with lid vs $63 "damaged" packaging. Ideally the 10+12 d3 goes on sale again.

How much does that combo go for? Also saw the Macy's deal and would much prefer that

The D3 12 inch and some others are just not price competitive enough anymore. Macy's was the best last week and urlhasbeenblocked was offering 10% cashback at the time.

Besides, these second quality and damaged box items are FINALE sales. It's like a path of no return.

To give another example, I was able to get the 4 qt week night pan @ $143.99 before tax with 5% PayPal credit card cash back and 8% urlhasbeenblocked cash back on Bloomingdale using their free coupon, a reputable retailer. This site sells at $139.95 @ second quality, and even with the 10% off, why would I want to take the risk of no return especially when these sales can be like lottery?

The point is, there're some good deals out there on some of these pans and if you do enough deal hunting and patience, I'm sure you'd find one online easily with more favorable terms.

I've generally heard good things about the seconds sale. Do you have examples of people getting shafted on damaged unreturnable products?

There aren't any. This isn't scratch and dent, and this comment feels like an effort to make a definitive statement rather than an admission of a preference for new items at a small premium.

It's fair for them to say you're stuck if you have buyers remorse, but it's not a lottery.

You're going to get a nice looking, usable piece of cookware. I ordered four pieces in the last sale, great experience, solid prices. Comments from those who buy in these are consistently good. If you're in the market, buy away!

I've order probably 8 or 9 pieces from these sales over the years and the experience has been great. I usually get the packaging damage items and sometimes its difficult to find the packaging damage. The pot or pan has always been in perfect new condition inside. Not sure why some of the comments above make it sound like they are heavily damaged.

Macy's sale last week put D3 12" fry pan WITH LID at $83.99 before tax with 10% cashback from Raku and several CC has 5% cashback using PP that effectively put this at $71.81, and if you're not satisfied with the pan or get unlucky with a defect, you get to return it. Chances are chances. If you're saying the chances of getting something bad is like getting stroked by lightning, fine. Don't you get that the pricing just isn't competitive especially this sale one doesn't even have lid?

The lid alone is worth $10-30+
Maybe some items. I grabbed three copper clad skillets for about 60% of the cost I've seen sales at elsewhere - I've been watching and I couldn't have come close elsewhere. Maybe for some other items it does get closer if you find a good sale. I do appreciate you sharing some other options to look out for though!

Any reason you don't use carbon steel for fry pan or skillet?

I use carbon steel for fry pan but do use stainless steel for my pots. Slowly trying to upgrade my pots to allclad.

I ordered "packaging damage" and it looks brand new. I can't even see anything wrong with the box.

There was a class action settlement from All Clad as their pans sold from 2015-2022 were claimed to be dishwasher safe but weren't. I bought a pan from homeandcooksales during this period and of course was not included in the restitution. Luckily I do not put my pans in the dishwasher.
Echoing the sentiments of others on here, the pan I got (a 4 Qt Weeknight Pan) seemed to be almost perfect. However, we've recently had a few others come over to cook and they commented how there seemed to be a defect - the bottom is slightly convex, so oil pools in the sides and makes only the sides of the pan useable for frying, while stuff in the middle ends up sticking to the pan. Not sure if this is how it's intended to be.
