There was a front page thread with good history regarding past buyers and recommendations.

I bought it at the $450 price, it's probably the cheapest most affordable mid drive bike that is a really great deal if you are willing to make some simple upgrades because the parts they picked to go along with the mid drive motor is mind blowing lol. Decent front suspension, no named OK brakes, terrible rear rack (but looks cool) and the worst twist shifter on bikes along with trash pedals, but those can be fixed easily. We are trying to modify the motor to accept a throttle, there is a spot on the controller for it, but the motor is very old version of a knockoff to bafang and it probably can't take it. We might be able to swap out the mid drive motor.. maybe. The battery is 36v not 48v and it might be old but it works, I ride 20 miles roundtrip to work and the battery can make it using mostly full assist. Can't really get over 18mph easily unless you change the sprocket which I will be doing, and climbing steep hills at 6 to 8mph so not the best climbing hills but it can be completely effortless and almost no pedaling , just slow. So overall if you don't need a fast bike or throttle, it's an amazing bike. The feel of the motor is actually quite stunning where it senses the amount your pedaling and adds power the harder you pedal so you can be in full power mode and gently pedal at a very slow speed which I absolutely love!! I have 9000 miles experience on a 750w hub gear bike and it's much stronger and faster but this mid drive is much more natural and fun to ride.

This is my first e-bike. I bought it for my wife, though I have put most of the 20 miles on it. Everyone in our family that has tried it has been surprised at the first push of the pedal. It literally feels like someone is behind you pushing. I was impressed enough that I bought the RTE mountain bike for myself. It'll be delivered Wednesday.

Ebikes are amazing if you live in hilly area. It got me to be able to flatten the hills with the motor and battery and took away knee pain that I had in every activity I tried besides walking or swimming. I was able to lose 40 pounds by biking to work everyday with low pedal assist and change in diet of course, but I had 12 years of chronic and severe upper and lower back problems from poor posture and being a professional photographer and sitting too much but biking daily takes away all lower back pain for me and I'm able to stand and sit again
That's great. Very happy for you.
I'm still in decent shape (for being a 57 yo smoker/drinker) but I live in a hilly area. I still ride dirtbikes and snowmobiles in our mountains. But sometimes, when there's no snow, I just want to jump on a bike and ride up to the local cell tower (dirtbikes not allowed) and have a beer (or 3) and enjoy the view.
I might? could still get up there on my non-assisted MTB, but it is exhausting and the thought of it has kept me from doing it any more. My new mid-drive MTB makes it much more inviting and I'm very glad that I decided to take the plunge. I still have to work and pedal, and it's not fast like a dirbike or snowmobile, but it gets me out there doing something, that I wouldn't be doing otherwise, because of the help from the wonderful motor.
Plus, there's a great (albeit steep/sketchy/rocky), single-track trail for the downhill from the cell tower that caps off the trip nicely. :-) And no motor needed to get back to the house. Cool

If you're unable to acquire a Rolls Royce, you can still obtain a Royce.

It's still a cheapo by Huffy. But it's still great deal and a great product for folks that aren't ready to spend $3k on a bike.

Any feedback you can provide regarding range?

Also, wondering if the battery is removable? It's not super obvious.
Range, I couldn't say. I've only put 22 miles on it, and the battery shows 3 out of 4 bars. The battery is easily removable. It slides in and locks with the included keys. To remove, just unlock it and pull it to the rear.

Anybody who is on the fence about an ebike should do it. I can't speak for this bike.... It is very cheap though so maybe worth it. I think the 20% number referenced above is way to low. I bet I get less than 50% the exercise I would get from a non-bike. Mine has a throttle but I still pedal 99% of the time. Throttle is mostly for getting started in traffic. I ride about 400 miles a month on my ebike and probably did 40 or so before on my normal bike. I'm able to use it instead of a car most of the time. I have a trailer for the kid / shopping.

Bought this bike for about 425 last time it was on sale. Mid drive is subtle, but adds a nice boost. Great ergonomics for my wife. Rims were out of true and back rack was bent, but still a great value. My wife really likes it. Nothing like my 1k watt home built, but a very nice package. Can't imagine a better value.

Maybe I'm blind... but how is the specs section so sparse? For example, how much does this thing weigh?

Anyone know what child seat would fit the back for a 9 year old? Or can I attach my bike trailer to this? Thank you
