Another way to look at it is you're getting a discount on the TV if you finance because money has value over time. Even if you could buy it outright, throwing that cash in a Treasury bill gets you 5% annually

Adding from the previous 77" thread…

Got 77" for 2105 before tax, including extra 10% from chat and $100 credit for tv trade in. Don't suspect it goes lower this year.

Mine arrived, but was cracked and no picture. Have to return and reorder, no replacements through Samsung.com. Also have to wait to get the price match to the reorder until after second order ships. They appear to only ship on Fridays so waiting a week for all of it. Huge pain.

It's a big discount but I probably won't order direct from Samsung again. This is the case where I may well wait until BF now and buy elsewhere.

I dont carry debt. I have none and like it that way. The prior poster stating its a smarter decision to take a loan at zero percent is correct. Its just my preference. Its always better financially to use other people's money if you can find a higher paying arbitrage for the loan amount, which this deal does.
I am sort of on the fence regarding buying as i think there may be lower prices in our future. Its a game we play ... satiating our desires for the TV vs those for paying less.
I have 48 hours to decide ...

You are completely missing the point. The original post mentioned financing a TV, regardless of the interest rate. No one is going to "throw cash in a T-bill" for a return for this minor a purchase. Now, a major purchase like a car or house, sure, but not a television.

How does the 10% discount from chat work? Is it a code or do they open up a new window for you? I have a 4% cb offer from BofA but must use their link. I'm wondering if I can get 10% off and the cb as well.

They will add it to your cart. You can then use the CB link to access the cart.
