Every time I see an Inspire Trainer deal I HAVE to jump into the thread to remind everyone that the foldable bench is pretty low to the ground thus making it double as an amazing bench to have sex on. It's really sturdy and your girl will be able to reach the floor as she rides on top. Not joking when I say that "feature" made the purchase 100% worth it.

Onto the fitness-y stuff, Inspire makes an amazing Trainer. As mentioned above, I have the FTX model and the pulleys are damn smooth and the machine is solid. I've put it together, taken it apart and put it together again with just the help of my wife. I haven't messed with the one on sale here and I'd probably prefer the FTX model due to the width, but I'm positive this one is incredible as well.

Even though I've upgraded to a commercial FreeMotion Dual Cable Machine, I still kept the Inspire because it's just too damn nice to sell and for the amazing sex bench.
Stop. Sound like my son's friends who think whatever they just heard or leaned from someone who "knows" how to lift. Been lifting for over 30 years, with pro athletes, pro body builders, trainers, people who fix people who get hurt all the time and everyone has their preference. No real or fake lifting - well except maybe those fake cross training weights. Best sports trainers I know have smith machines - preference. If you use anything wrong you can get hurt. To say it's for beginners is just silly and uninformed. Like the other poster said, sometimes folks get older, have different goals and might not have a ton of space. I don't know any sports professional or any rehab specialist who benches - at least not with a Straight bar or on a flat bench. If I "bench" I incline and use dumbells or cables - classic bench is terrible on various joints. Bench is the good ol "look at me and how much I lift". Guess cool when you are young and trying to catch a girl or impress the homies but how you also get hurt. In fact at reputable rehab locations or conditions facilities I know they use the smith machine to teach technique because most people are not confident enough, knowledgeable enough or strong enough to unrack and do various squats. Some chose to eventually get off the machine or continue to use it but to say you develop bad for is simply not true. Bad form is a result of not knowing what you are doing (never being taught), muscle imbalances, muscle weakness or just a thick head. If the smith machine will get a person working out, all good. Anyone trying to dump on equipment simply because they don't prefer it or use something else doesn't help those trying to make an informed decision they may need to change their quality of life. Some of us who are now older and gone through the torn muscles, and now have lingering aches that don't go away might like to transition to simpler equipment that doesn't take up half the garage. My kids might like more area for their wrestling mats 😉

Not trying to sound like a"do you even lift" kinda guy, but assuming there's a way to add plates? 330 on the squat is good, but will be exceeded in time.

edit, looked it up, so the stacks are 2:1, so its actually half the weight per stack (82.5), but you can use a "doubling function" to double it. So 330 is the max of this machine. Great for many exercises except a more advanced squat and deadlift.

Where did you see that you can double it up? I tried to look and couldn't find anything but that would be pretty awesome for this machine.

I'm really interested in this machine. From their websites "Need more weight on your Smith Bar? No problem, you can double the weight with the SF3's weight multiplier feature."
I might just replace my barebone rogue power rack with this

It only doubles from half... Meaning, due to the pulleys, the listed weights are cut in half when they are lifted. But you can do "something" to double it, thus the listed weights become actual again.

I can get this one but not the Inspire Fitness FTX. Ridiculous big company just ship it to me. This limited stock by zip is a joke lol. Both have 165lb stacks don't think the SF3 worth the extra $700. Rather wait on a sale from REP

to each his own. I will never choose any other company if Costco offer the same or similar item. Lets say shit doesn't work out I bet rep will be more of a pain to resolve or return. Having said that, Rep have gotten so big now from the initial days when I purchased their first adjustable bench. Quality stuff

I have the FT2 and it is amazing. For those wondering about the weight doubling, if the SF3 is like mine, you attach the smith bar to a second cable and it doubles the weight (so it becomes 1:1). It basically changes the cable arrangement/ratio. It takes all of 5 to 10 seconds to make the change.
