Not connecting to Wi-Fi is a deal breaker for me.. got to be able to open and close the garage from anywhere and make sure it's closed when I'm on vacation extra peace of mind

You can get a MyQ for around $30 on sale. No a deal breaker at all.

Incidentally there is another Genie opener for $129 at Lowe's. It's a chain drive unit.

I have this unit, bought it earlier this year to replace the builder grade Chamberlain that came with the house when I bought it. This is significantly quieter so much so my son's friends have commented how quiet it is. The lack of WiFi is not an issue, already had a controller that was tied into my Smartthings setup.
