Thoughts so far
- I'd never seen a Victus in person and had heard a bunch of people on Slick complain about the desktop thermals, but I have to say, this thing looks and feels fantastic. It could totally pass for a business laptop
- It's also a lot thinner than I expected
- Speed is NUTTTTS, AND IT'S SOMEHOW COMPLETELY SILENT during regular use ( haven't tried gaming yet )
- Shockingly good keyboard, though I personally wish it didn't have the number pad
- Screen is working fine in a brightly lit room at full brightness. The 144Hz makes it feel premium, but it is not a screen where when you turn it up to full brightness it blinds your eyes. I would actually recommend it unless you plan on gaming outside. Default scaling is 125%, which seems like a good fit, or you can dial things up to 150% for just reading which looks great
- One awesome thing is that the screen sits up really high, so if you're even semi-tall or have a longer torso, it's more comfortable
- I'm a software engineer and am excited to see what this hardware can do, am setting up my dev tools and stuff and will try some gaming out later tonight and report back
To your question, for this price, to me it feels like a REALLLLY good deal so far, especially if you want to stay right around this $ and not grab the 4070 Alienware for about 40% more $

- Screen is fantastic if you do 150% scaling, not a huge fan of it at 100%, also I do wish it was 16:10
- Performance is RIDICULOUS for the price, these 13th gen i7s are eviscerators, and the 144Hz makes it feel so responsive
- SSD performance seems really really good
- Keyboard is 9/10, I'm typing faster and more confidently than I do on my 15" MacBook Air even
- Keyboard backlight looks pretty bad, points off for this
- The ergonomics of this thing are unusually good, and it has an interesting 2-tier design on the underside for airflow that I've never seen in a laptop before, the best way to describe it is that it has a 'platform' that it sits on, which also slightly angles it to upward to guarantee airflow, and as a bonus makes it look sleeker from all sides
- This is the only *very* competent gaming system I've ever used where it appears that it is absolutely dead silent while I'm working. I am so shook over this, and it feels like a dream come true
I recently bought the HP Envy i9 / 4060 w/ a 120Hz 1600p screen that was on sale at Best Buy, and proceeded to brick and exchange 2 of them before giving up. That machine just overheated on its own and nuked the 4060, twice. That said, the gaming performance on it was REALLY good, and its power adapter was significantly smaller than the one that came w/ this one, so I'm expecting this thing to be a gaming monster, on par w/ some desktops
Absolutely in love w/ mine after a night of use and gaming. This thing even stays relatively quiet while gaming, I'm absolutely baffled. I haven't tried gaming at 4k yet, but will hook it up to my Samsung Frame tomorrow and see what DLSS can do
The 4060 is a 120W, has a mux switch and advanced optimus, and the screen has 100% sRGB coverage. Killer feature so far is that it's dead silent and hasn't gotten even lukewarm in gaming
