This is actually the brand new US-market only Evo Pro that they launched in August...it does exactly what you asked for - 9 bar spring from the factory.

The retailer Whole Latte Love [wholelattelove.com] has the same machine on sale for $399.99 after promo code GAGGIA. They are also an authorized repair center for the Gaggia brand.

This is a great deal. If you like to tinker this is a great unit, it does need some upgrades to be "modern". If you don't like to tinker I think a bambino or bambino plus would serve most people better.

I have this and it's OK. Really not great at milk foaming - usually takes two or even three full cycles to completely foam milk. Factory pressure is set to 12 bar, which is a bit high and leaves a lower margin of error for grinding and tamping properly to avoid channeling and stuff like that. The pressure is easy enough to mod down (replacing one spring) but most folks aren't into modding coffee makers.

It's probably up there with the best in this range but it annoys me that some of the issues would be so easy (and inexpensive) to fix at the factory.

i'm guessing i'll get downvoted for even asking, but, is this worth like 9x the price of this one? https://www.walmart.com/ip/Casabr.../603613108
Yes, it definitely is worth the price.

The Casabrews CM1699 is not a real (traditional) espresso machine. When you see something like '20 bars', this means the basket is pressurized, which have worse extraction than an unpressurized basket. https://www.seattlecoffeegear.com...ifference/

The super auto series ? 3200 etc etc? this one can pull a lot better shots but you'll have to learn how to do it

Yeah I just started drinking pour over this year. Now want to branch out to espresso and cappuccinos and from what I read and watched on YouTube the Bambino is a good bang for your buck starter machine. Waiting for Black Friday to see if any deals pop up for that

I def agree with this I have the bambin+ and my friend has the older GCP. If you want a no frills Espresso Machine to make milk drinks the Bambino is a great machine with a small footprint. But this one is great to tinker with (upgrades like PID, portafilters shower screens) i know the bambino has them too but theres so many more chioces since this uses the commerical 58MM portafilter vs bambinos 53 which is more forgiving for puck prep

Posted similar deal and got it from Whole Latta Love at $399. If you love stronger espresso flavors, this is the way to go. I was going to get the Bambino also, but did this instead for the more standard portafilter 58mm size. Any accessories will work if I ever changed.

That said, bottomless portafiler, weight scale, new basket will be another $100 and I did the Barista Gadget mod which was $130 to control temp. Have been enjoying ice americanos, iced lattes, and cappacinnos at home easily. It's a fun process to make your own espressos.
With diff beans, you can taste all the diff bean profiles which is very interesting too,

thanks, this was actually helpful to point out the most notable difference (vs. dealmonkey's response)! can't speak to the milk frother quality either but

i suppose the obvious answer is, it depends on whether that notable difference worth the 9x difference in cost to someone Smilie
