These amex deals are based on the final purchase price (including shipping when applicable), not the pretax price.

How fast did you get the email from Amex? I placed an order but no email from AMEX yet.
Within 2-4 minutes.

Any internal HD deals?
256GB 2.5" SSD just to hold OS? Or a KVM switch?
You can get a 256gb ssd dirt cheap these days. Something like $25

Decided to pick one up. With the amex offer it's a pretty slick deal. I also got 10% back going through a portal so it will come out to $45 after tax and cash back. Repped

Thanks for the post.
I got a Toshiba Canvio Advance 4TB USB 3.2 Gen1 portable external HDD - White color. After taxes I ordered it for $106.99

Dell does Price match, so I looked it up on Amazon and B&H photo for $99.99, so Dell matched the same exact price and I ordered it.

Is this a spinner or ssd? I thought "hard drive" could be either mechanical or solid state.

Hi,
I double checked with Toshiba site before ordering and the Dell website also says 3.2 clearly.

https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/t...ives-media

The reason I went this instead of canvas ready($10 cheaper) was because of its additional features and an extra year of manufacturer warranty.

The model you linked to is usb 3.0 only as per Toshiba site. I suspect the Dell spec is incorrect.

Is it a big difference between 3.0 vs 3.2?
Trying to learn/understand
TIA

It's a platter drive. ~130 MB/sec is the realistic limit here, whereas the 5Gbps link speed allows for up to ~640 MB/sec. So, no, it doesn't matter.
