Solid deal.

I bought the 12th gen version for my Grandma earlier this year. That one only has 8 GB, and it was just fine for day to day web browsing. This 16GB variant will be even better.

Agreed, 8GB is actually fine for normal use, contrary to what people say online. I mean, this isn't a gaming laptop, after all. 1335U should sip slowly from the 71Wh battery. I saw a review where the guy got 14 hours with the i7 variant!

https://youtu.be/LP9Gb-lQH9k?t=748

Also agreed that 16GB is even better, though.

how do I know this Lenovo model has 71Wh battery? I am comparing a dell 16 inch 2 in one with AMD Ryzen 7 7730U (dell's web site says 54 wh 4 cell) with this one. how do I know which one's battery will last longer?

Here's Lenovo's reference page for the model listed by bestbuy, which says it's 71Wh:

Thanks for sharing it and for inputs.

Few inconspicuous drawbacks:
- Unimpressive display. 60% sRGB Coverage (45% NTSC).
- M.2 2242 drive
- Soldered RAM.

Personally I would try to find this laptop with 2560 x 1600 screen option (even for Grandma Smilie ) as it offers much better color reproduction and brightness. Or get something else, because M.2 2242 Drive will limit your upgrade options.

So, really it will cost $600 if you are not a plus member?
Edit: $550 + $50 for membership.

Actually now that I look, the one that I got for Grandma does have the 2.6k screen.

Actually looks like the price is up to $849.99 if you aren't a Total Member. It's $549.99 if you are.

All U series run cool, Lenovo does well on the cooling solutions. When the fan does ramp on it isn't annoying. Problem with most of these modern laptops is the vents are on the back and eject the heat at the bottom of the display when it is open.

WUXGA doesn't mean much to most folks, I imagine. Recommend adding actual screen resolution to title.

1080p in a 16" screen is blurry. Also 300-nits brightness and touch screen just adds more bulk is no bueno.

I searched for "laptop" on here and almost every recent thread has FHD, QHD, 2.5K, etc. It's fine.
