The only one that was exhibiting stutters and hiccups was surprisingly the Asus Creator OLED with 16 gigs of RAM. Every time I would hover down to the date/time, like clockwork, it would freeze up for a second. Super annoying since on paper it has relatively stout specs.
This HP Envy has actually been very smooth, with my sole nitpicks being the screen brightness (it looks good at 2 clicks below max and up) and for some reason my battery is constantly showing 100% even off the charger. Working on resolving the latter. 1335U is definitely no slouch. If I can't fix the battery charge level issue, I will return it and hold out for a ~$500 open box 16GB Zenbook 14X. That's the one that has the best screen and ticks all boxes aside from being slim. That boy is thick.

Haven't resolved the battery level issue, but it should've been at 100% since it was plugged in for a few hours. I ran a 4K YouTube video at max brightness/no volume and it died in less than a couple hours. I haven't had a laptop die that quickly in the past decade. No way I'm keeping it now.
We'll see if it ships.
