still sitting sour that my Gen 1s had the known crackle issue and Apple wouldn't replace them.

Attractive price but I can't bring myself to buy AirPods from Amazon. Too many horror stories in the reviews about receiving fakes and Reddit posts about people wanting to or suggesting buying real ones and returning fakes. Some have mentioned Amazon co-mangles the inventory so there is a chance a pair listed as Sold and Shipped by Amazon is actually a unit from a 3rd party seller.

While a lot of that is hearsay, there are enough reviews that give me pause.

doesnt hurt to try, but be ready to rebuy at the new price and when it arrives send it back as the first purchase.

oh and be sure to tell them what a hassle it is and that it costs them to process both the new purchase and return.

Thanks, I don't have a serial number in any of the three emails I received. Maybe in the shipping email.

I had to go to a third-party repairer while I was abroad after the official warranty lapsed to get them serviced and had the cost covered by the credit card. The Apple Store just would not admit that there were something wrong with them.
