YMMV

I was able to find the Wyze Plug Outdoor on clearance at my local Home Depot (Tigard OR) for $5. Seems like a better deal, especially if you already have Wyze products like myself and want the bonus energy monitoring. I picked up three yesterday and there were at least a few more left.

I have a mix of switches, bulbs outlets and the outdoor outlet, all Kasa, and have had zero issues. Connection issues are usually an issue with the router from what i've seen. If you have too wide of a channel for the 2.4ghz network it won't connect. That and poor signal strength.

I about 10+ kasa outlets in my house. Flawless unlike the Amazon outlets which lose connectivity every now and then. Kasa app is very user friendly.

Anyone else have any comments on these? Considering them as replacements for my Bluetooth Sylvania's that are too dim when going outside the cool to warm white colors (ie: holiday colors are at least 50% less bright than the white colors).
To add to my previous comment, it seems like most of the RGB bulbs I've attempted seem to start acting up when set to some colors more then others. I suspect heat is likely the cause and causes them to flake out.

Are you sure it isn't the socket or wattage on the line? These are LED bulbs so they have the same issue as regular non-smart LED bulbs with not enough wattage on the line and won't work in all situations.

Almost every one that I have used throughout my house setup fine and worked for a relatively short period of time before starting to act up. I still suspect the technology crammed in the bulbs isn't cooled adequately considering there is no where for any heat to escape. Electronics + Heat don't always mix the best.

This has been my experience as well.
Kasa products tend to do very poorly with less than idea internet setups.
Once I upgraded my internet speeds beyond 5mpbs, and moved to a mesh networks, I have had zero issues.

Odd. I have 3 smart bulbs, 2 of which turn on around 5:30pm and are on until midnight every day and i've yet to have issues with heat or connection. And i've owned them for about 5 years now. All 3 are in standard table lamps.

Do you keep them set to white out of curiosity? I've had various ones that when set yellow, orange or red they will just quit responding after a while and just blink.

They adjust the temp as the night goes on. I also have them set to blue when we go to bed. Red and green during xmas. Orange or deep blue during halloween. No difference when a color is used.

Intersting, perhaps I just have bad luck with them. Thus far I haven't been impressed with any of the 8 or so RGB bulbs I've purchased. Setting them blue before bed might impact your sleep quality, just a heads up if you've been having any problems getting to sleep.

We have used these Kasa outdoor plugs for two years, and they have been bullet-proof reliable. It's the Kasa bulbs that often lose connection (but they usually come back online after a little while).

The lights are away from our bedroom for when they turn blue. It's for the office and hallway and turn off after 2 minutes. I have a bunch of home automation stuff set up.

The lights turn red when the doorbell rings too.

Another vote for the outdoor plug. If you have a good network, it works almost flawlessly.

Trying to decide if it's worth it to wait for Black Friday deals on these.
