Well rtings has all the stats and measurements to back it up and there are plenty of other pro reviewers that make a living reviewing equipment who feel the same way and you saying 100 times better speaks to your credibility. You have neither tv but feel like you know more about these than professionals that have extensively tested both lol
That's usually the TCL QM8 owners hating, just look around and you will see this TV is universally praised by reviewers

This is what I had my eye on, was able to cancel my order for 1999.99 and reorder at the lower price.

This is the dilemma i keep running into. Hard to look past the (usually free) 5yr warranty.

also on the reddit page, they say the rating for this tv are inflated.

Definitely need an extended warranty with Hisense, you will likely use it 2-3x over the 5 years

shit, maybe i was thinking the qm8.

I'm in the hunt for a 77" oled, but mini-led seems pretty dang good too. My wall is pretty big, so i'd be fine with bigger.

$1800 is a amazing price. You can get the geek squad warranty for $388 which under $2200 is still a good price and the geek squad warranty (which i recommend)is much better than the costco warranty. The U8K is one of the best non OLED tvs on the market. Also it comes with the $100 version of NBA 2K24 if bought at best buy

Wow, nice to see another deal for large (>65) TV. Now there are 75 X90K for $1000, 85 U8K for $1800, and 85 X90L for $2000.

For a bright room which one would you pick? Only 4K/1080p content for my usage if it matters.

This one. It's noticeably brighter and is better against reflection. Plus it's just a better tv

I've been eyeing this at the 1999 price for a while now, pulled the trigger on amazon this morning at 1799. Incredible specs/size for the price.

Anyone have any comments on longevity of these tv's? About a year or so ago, my parents had a hisense from best buy die within the first year (lines all over the picture) luckily it was still under mfg warranty so they were able to get money back, but it was a real pain...sending specific pictures, waiting, scheduling a company to come out and destroy the tv by scratching lines in it......a bit of a nighmare, but ended up just fine.
This one is really tempting to replace my 7 year old 75" samsung that is showing signs of screen degradation.
It comes with a 2 year warranty, i'm not sure its worth ponying up an extra $183 for 4 year warranty from amazon/asurion or $380 for 5 year warranty from Best Buy.

thoughts?

Well their tvs have been getting better quality wise and they make very cheap budget tvs too but this one of their premium models which are built a little better. The best buy 5 year warranty is the best tv warranty on the market so I do recommend it but I don't think it's absolutely necessary. I wouldn't compare the quality on their cheaper sets to their premium models.

My H6510 has been running for 3 years without an issue (minor bedroom use, about 4 hour a week though. Idle mode all the time if this matters.
