this is a perfectly good set up for a weekend warrior.

detailing stuff is very much religion, and CG isn't quite the top tier as far as detailing chemicals goes, but yeah, this would make a great gift for someone who's into cars and washing themselves but is still in the "old bucket and ratty sponge with some whatever towels" setup or for someone who's looking to start washing their car themselves for the first time.

I'd recommend adding a wheel brush and a spray wax to round out a full "kit" as well as a few more quality microfibers.

The mitt is great, the towels, silk shine and citrus clean are decent products, but the diablo wheel cleaner is terrible. This is probably an ok deal for most weekend warriors for the price, but if you have a nice car I recommend a slight step up and just pick up some p&s or Carpro products.

Thanks for the info! Any links on suggested wheel brush, spray, and towels?

Technicians Choice TEC582 Ceramic Detail Spray

It isn't entirely a consumer product but there are vendors online who will sell it in a single spray bottle.

Really good results and very easy to use but low price compared to a lot of equivalents. I switched from C2v3 which is far more expensive and I like my results more.

What about this one?

Deal of the day for Prime Members: Chemical Guys HOL126 14-Piece Arsenal Builder Car Wash Kit with Foam Gun, Bucket and (5) 16 oz Car Care Cleaning Chemicals (Works w/Garden Hose) https://a.co/d/3DyM3V3

I just got a new car less than a month ago and was looking at it but it seemed too expensive before without the prime sale.

Don't buy sets, they are usually not a good value and have a lot of questionable items. Go to reddit and search for auto detailing sub, they have wiki with great recommendations for mitts, towels, interior and exterior products for multiple price points

I own the gauntlet and it is super overrated. I would highly recommend buying the SHSCLY towels on Amazon, it's currently $24 for two. It dries, wrings, and is larger than the same size gauntlet for half the price since it's $12 each.

I don't touch my gauntlet anymore, you can easily glide one of these bad boys on your car with two hands guiding the corners. Two of these can dry an SUV, usually I use my blower to blow dry my car and then finish off with one towel.
