The harvest elite slim is $60 and comes allows for more space between plants, more sophisticated buttons and screen, and has vacation features! (ONLY STAINLESS STEEL)

https://a.co/d/9wNgbkj

EDIT: I was confused why Amazon says the Harvest basic is $165. On Aerogarden's website the msrp is $90. Don't get bamboozled!!

Is it worth to get the regular harvest elite over slim?

Put extra in the toaster oven and turn it into dried herbs. Or you can share it with your neighbors. 😀

AFAIK it's the slim is stretched out wider rather than deeper. Some people on the internet say that this allows for more space between plants and could be beneficial for harvest sizes but I have no personal experience. I'm going with the elite slim.

I'm new to aerogardens, I bought almost all of them on sale. For $10 more the differences are minimal but worth it. With herbs you can plant them using all the holes available and this version is the best for herbs as it has the most spots (6 vs 3 on the slim) and the extra space is nice for more growth. Having a screen to tell you how many days it's been planted doesn't really help but it's kind of nice so your not missing much on the cheaper version. I love these things and I'm about to get into kratky hydroponic because indoor growing is so fun

What is the actual difference between the Aerogarden and the generic models on Amazon?

For example, this model has 12 PODS (versus 6 of this Aerogarden), claims it has a better lighting and pump system, is highly rated on Amazon, and is also $65.00 like the Harvest Elite Slim.

Is the Aerogarden brand really that much better, or are you really just paying for the name?

What's better for herbs? This or the slim?

You can plant them in a regular pot with soil or continue to grow them hydroponically in a container of water outside of the aerogarden. I've successfully moved basil, lettuce, and thyme. Basil and lettuce work well in a vase filled with water and occasional food. If your space is low on light, put them next to the aerogarden and they will get extra light or purchase a stand alone grow light.

I see you can get a 4 year warranty for $8. I've had 2 cheap Idoo and they failed less than 2 years. I looked at the Elite slim that was mentioned and no option for a cheap warranty. Too bad I'd rather have that one but will likely get this one with the warranty.

For those debating between regular harvest and elite slim harvest, I'd personally go with the elite slim for $10 more. I have quite a few of these and harvest vs slim shape doesn't matter significantly but elite vs non-elite does. One of the benefits is you can set a start/stop time on the elite via settings whereas on the regular, if you want it to start at say 5am, you need to wake up at 5am and reset the garden physically.

Fwiw the regular harvest slim (non-elite) is also available in green at home depot for the same price ($50) if you're not into black or white but personally I like stainless steel look for a little more
