Samsung just announced T9 drives [samsung.com]. These will most likely drop more in price around Black Friday.

If you have the Amex deal 50$ off 100$,
You can get this external SSD from Dell for 79.99$ + tax and combine for 10% CB as well for a slicker deal.

Better to price match with best buy/amazon, then use Amex deal. So will be $50 + tax. Dell quotes also work with the Amex offer which I just did. Tried to use additional 10% CB, but doubt I'll get it since changed the url after opening CB link. But if I do, that'll just be gravy on top.

You should price match to best buy or bhphotovideo instead which have the same price. Dell tends to find every excuse to deny a price match especially if it's Prime day or flash deals.

I've been wanting to replace my portable hard drives with at least one or two portable SSD's. Obviously the SSD's are more shockproof and lower power (maybe?) and most definitely faster.

But I guess my question is should I buy a portable or get a good Nvme drive and enclosure? Would probably cost a little more overall, but personally I feel like that COULD have more longevity depending on the enclosure. Input and knowledge appreciated.

My portable SSD drives have traveled around the world with me and have not failed. If the price works for you, always go with the SSD

T9 (2TB) = $239.99 now https://www.amazon.com/SAMSUNG-Po...0CHFS9K14/
T7 (2TB) = $99.99 now

Yes, the T9's $239.99 will be a much better price on Black Friday, but it's very unlikely to be anywhere close to $99.99.

We could speculate. Maybe the T9's price will be $169-$189. That's still nowhere near the T7's $99 price, and Samsung wouldn't need any reason to drop the T7 much below this $99 sale price in order to keep two performance categories. Might the T7 $99 go lower, perhaps to $89? Perhaps but they might normally be able to clear them out eventually (if they need to) at $99 as it'll still be much lower than the T9s for some time to come. It won't hurt them to keep two price categories going forward anyway.

Just did exactly this. It looks like the urlhasbeenblocked was active at checkout as well. Great stack
