You should price match to best buy or bhphotovideo instead which have the same price. Dell tends to find every excuse to deny a price match especially if it's Prime day or flash deals.
I tried to price match to Dell but got denied because it's a "deal" price

FYI: regarding PRICE MATCH w/Dell DELL will NOT honor any price match with BEST BUY, BHphoto, nor NEWEGG. After finally speaking with them, they say that they do not match any limited time sale (which, aren't all sales limited?) and all 3 are considered "FLASH SALES". So buyer beware if you follow anyone's suggestions to purchase from them instead.

Even trying to pricematch Bestbuy or bhphoto was unsuccessful for me. I agree, Dell found every excuse to deny a price match and it was pretty disappointing.

T9 (2TB) = $239.99 now https://www.amazon.com/SAMSUNG-Po...0CHFS9K14/
T7 (2TB) = $99.99 now

Yes, the T9's $239.99 will be a much better price on Black Friday, but it's very unlikely to be anywhere close to $99.99.

We could speculate. Maybe the T9's price will be $169-$189. That's still nowhere near the T7's $99 price, and Samsung wouldn't need any reason to drop the T7 much below this $99 sale price in order to keep two performance categories. Might the T7 $99 go lower, perhaps to $89? Perhaps but they might normally be able to clear them out eventually (if they need to) at $99 as it'll still be much lower than the T9s for some time to come. It won't hurt them to keep two price categories going forward anyway.
I meant T7 will drop in price not T9. But I do agree it won't be by much to take risk. T7 is a very reliable drive.

Better to price match with best buy/amazon, then use Amex deal. So will be $50 + tax. Dell quotes also work with the Amex offer which I just did. Tried to use additional 10% CB, but doubt I'll get it since changed the url after opening CB link. But if I do, that'll just be gravy on top.

So which site were you able to get the $99.99 price match with Dell? I tried amazon/bhphotovideo/newegg and was turned down with all those sites with the explanation that they were all running flash sales that don't qualify for Dell price matching.

Would the T7 drive work good for gaming?

If you have the Amex deal 50$ off 100$,
You can get this external SSD from Dell for 79.99$ + tax and combine for 10% CB as well for a slicker deal.

That's for the 1TB model, not the 2TB.

Not sure for gaming but I use these for Time Machine backups on Mac and they work flawlessly. No disconnects. Previously, I was using nVME drive with enclosure and those disconnect frequently due to heat.

Dell now says that their price match team is gone and will price match it tomorrow, which they know the price will go up. Bastards.

Same experience here. Tried 4 different websites. Dell refused to price match today.

Dell does a price match with Amazons price of $109. So with Amex's $50 credit it comes down to $109-$50=$59.
