I don't think he is shilling but making a good point. Many products on Amazon are being "sold" by drop-shippers that simply act as middle men.

EG, These drop-shippers take your order/money on Amazon with a 50% markup, buy the item from cheap Chinese sites like Aliexpress and Temu with your funds and then those sites send the item.

There's insidious sellers on eBay that take this to the extreme by having programs and algorithms which monitor discount store prices like Walmart and Target and automatically mark up the price by 30% to 40%. These drop-shipping sellers on Ebay literally make money by doing nothing; the term is called retail cat-fishing.

IMO the best way to protect yourself from retail cat-fishing scams is by using/enabling Google Lens in Chrome to easily compare prices via reverse image search. You will be shocked how much drop-shipping and cat-fishing that's going on; at least I was when I first started using Google Lens...

A TikTok guy who talks about daily deals mentioned a pair of earbuds on sale during this Prime Sale. Originally $29.99, they're currently 49% off at $15.29! I read some of the recent reviews and there was a review posted just LAST week that said ... I don't want to be critical since these were only $14, but the sound quality is bad.

It's 92.5% crap. At least it was 60-80% off this time last year. But even at 80% off I don't need a 12 pack of safety glasses, door knobs, oven mitts, 100 pencils, or adult diapers!

Prices seem inflated. I know I can find cheaper extension cords than what's listed. Maybe others will find something but no luck on my end.

Looks like a lot less useful crap this year. Probably stuff they couldn't sell. I know for a fact some of these "sale" items were half of the sale price earlier this year.

They all look to be about what the "normal" price should be. There's a cat litter pan for $10 that looks good, but again, that looks to be about what it's worth, not any kind of clearance.
