And that's based on.. personal experience? Reviews?
Copy pasting my comment from the previous thread on this laptop:
This would be mainly appreciated by Gaming enthusiasts and is mainly aimed at streamers.
Some things to note:
Despite Best Buy and Corsair stating the brightness to be 600+ nits, reviews show it's only a bit over 500 nits
This is Corsair's first ever attempt at a gaming laptop and they've done a bang-up job (according to reviews linked below).
The RX 6800M sits somewhere between the 3070 and 3080
Despite being an AMD config. it does have Thunderbolt 3 support
Despite not being as thin and light as the ASUS G series, it's still quite light for its' size and components
It has a wireless receiver in-built to the motherboard which can connect to Corsair products (such as a wireless mouse) without the need to plug in a USB transmitter/dongle
Yup. I was interested in getting this, but it seems Corsair essentially abandoned it. Numerous complaints of poor driver support. It doesn't matter how great the hardware is if it doesn't have the software to back it up.
This laptop is hard to beat when on sale for 999! Plenty of power under the hood in a thin, all aluminum, high-quality chassis. It's got the build quality of Razer and Alienware but does a better job in my opinion because of its cherry MX keyboard and muted all black look. The charging brick is smaller than most other gaming laptops, and it also came with a very nice sleeve. The laptop has an extra SSD slot and the ram is upgradable as well. I found that it's not newbie friendly thou. You will definitely need to know how to update all the software, firmware and bios when going into this purchase. Once everything is updated, it runs just as well as my i9 12900H and 3070 TI laptop. The 6800M seems pretty future proof with 12 gigs of VRAM. Screen is about 400-450 nits with great colors and resolution. I personally prefer this raised screen design as it helps with posture and the hinge allows the screen to go back quite a bit but a full 180. I've only been able to get 4-5hrs on battery doing just web surfing which is bit disappointing but thankfully it supports usb c charging. The customizable "S Keys" are great for someone who needs it but for me it felt a bit gimmicky. The small screen on the keyboard with battery/time display is customizable and I like having it there. All in all it's Corsair's first laptop and they did a great job with it as there's not many options for 6800m laptops. Time will tell how the laptop holds up.
