I wouldn't buy anything Taylormade from Amazon. They sell a lot of counterfeits, and I've had to return every item I bought from them. What you recieve is never what's in the pictures
Why 3.8 stars? How does this compare to the famous Odyssey putters?
There's a single 1 star review dragging the rating down. It says the putter they received isn't the one advertised. So it's not an indictment of the putter itself.
To the Odyssey comment, Odyssey is owned by Callaway. Callaway and Taylormade are two of the juggernauts in golf club manufacturing. Taylormade makes very good putters and its Spider line is well regarded. There's no reason to expect this putter to be any worse or better than Odyssey putters.

Awesome. Thanks for your feedback I really appreciate it. I think I'm in for one then since I've been looking for a mallet putter.
I own this putter and it's very solid. The tungsten in the back does make it feel quite heavy which may/may not be an issue for you depending on type of grass and speed of greens you play on. That's a slick deal.

How do you think this Taylormade club compares to this Cobra deal that's for $150?
A lot of the value of putters is based on the golfer. I would recommend trying them at stores or ordering multiple putters that are returnable and testing them. Cobras and TaylorMade are both excellent clubs although most would consider TaylorMade a higher tier. "
As the above comment mentioned, it's all personal preference. Cobra putters use a technology called SIK face, that I'm a fan of (variable loft depending on if you hit high, low, middle of the face). And I like using a putter that I can pick the ball up with. So I would personally lean toward the Cobra, but that's just me. You'd probably be okay going with either one. If you have a Golf Galaxy or PGA Superstore, or any large golf retailer nearby, it wouldn't hurt to pop in and see if they have these putters available to hit.
