Not bad, but the last Gen tesla charger could charge at 80A. This can't, max is 50A?

I would rather go with a cheaper tesla charger. These will come down in price

I personally like the plug-in versions, which typically tops out at 40A anyway. If you prefer hardwire and own a Tesla, that's the cheapest solution for sure. You can get it on Tesla's website, or FB Marketplace for lower entry price.

I own the Juicebox 40, and it works fine for me, but I also own both a VW and a Tesla.

I think J1772 connector has 50A limit and in any case current gen Tesla WC has the same 50A limit. A better question is if J1772 or Tesla connectors would be more useful in the next 5-10 years. There are adapters but it is always easier and cheaper to use charging cable directly.

Or you can get something like this for $100 cheaper and do load management in the future if you get solar

The plug in ones are $50 more.
Btw look out if your local localities or electric companies are offering rebates. Can make it free or near it at least.

Easy answer, Tesla NACS.
