Worried that the only non-"I got it for free in exchange for a review" review is one star.
All of these review are

Downside is, if you actually build it and it sucks, are you really going to dissemble it and return it?
It's now 139$. I just purchased it for under 150$ total shipped to my door

Can't beat that price, In for 1.

Agreed. You can't even buy a replacement slide for most sets at this price.

I've bought Kidkraft on deep discount before and it is generally decent quality. I do recommend coating it with an outdoor urethane or other water seal periodically and it should easily last until your kids outgrow it unless their goal in life is to see how much they can destroy before you cut them off.

Exactly what I saw too. A 3 year old was making it tip? Confused

It was a husky three year old?

In all seriousness, you're going to want to stake most of these sets down somehow, whether with sandbags over the supports or rebar driven into the soil. They're much lighter weight than what you might build from a lumber yard, but that's why they're $400 MSRP and not $2400 MSRP. Set your expectations accordingly, be ready to do a little maintenance, and at less than $150 shipped, it's going to be hard to beat without finding a steal at a yardsale or flea market.

I got a cheap set from this company last year, one without the lookout tower... Anyways, $139 is an absolute steal. I assume it will be just as much a pain to assemble as the one I bought, but so far it's been worth every penny for my two year old

These are made of the cheapest wood ever. You accidentally screw too hard and the wood splits. It's of very poor quality.

You don't always have to screw hard. Sometimes that's not right to do

Heat the screw (torch it) before screwing - it's supposed to help keep the wood from splitting.

I have a different kids Kraft swingset that is the same but without that upper observation deck. It was $350 on sale. This is a really good deal.

I built it myself with a friend. There was a lot of screws and bolts but it was all labeled and the directions were easy to follow like a big ikea thing. The only part that messed me up was the green triangular brackets that hold the swing support to the main "tower", in the instructions it clearly showed the brackets upside down. Took me an hour of convincing myself to just take that part down and flip the bracket just to try it out.. that ended up being the problem but the wasted time was all me fighting my better judgment.

Either way I would buy this. Don't hesitate too long and make sure all the parts are accounted for before you start building.

Neighbors have one, very similar. My 8 year old daughter is wayyyy too tall for it. I'd say it's good for kids up to 5. It's solidish. If 2 kids swinging and 2 more climbing, I never got nervous! Not idea how long it will last though. For $140 I guess it's worth a shot.

This is so small and that second story is so unsafe. Even anchored it's going to creak and flex. It would be scary at the top when someone is swinging. I have the one story one the tower is bigger on that but it's still tiny. Only good for 2-4yo. I switch the two swing to one big disc so the 5-8yo will use it.

This comment needs more likes. These import cheap play sets arent treated wood, like we are used to at the lumber yards. These will crack and dry out (my first one in about a year). Highly recommend getting some sort of sealant on this before putting it together.

So I would need to seal the wood and someone else said to heat the screws to avoid splitting? This is when a "deal" becomes a headache.

Thank you for this, PPXYZ1! With four grandchildren between the ages of two months and two years, this is a great starter set for our back yard. Smilie
