My local Costco had the 8 pack of Spam 25% less sodium variety for $17.59 after a $5 instant coupon. It may have been the same for the regular Spam but I only saw the 25% less sodium variety. My receipt is attached for proof.

Spam LITE, the version with less fat and less sodium, is absolute garbage. Not an exaggeration to say it's like chewing rubber. Even as a Spam-loving Korean, I can't eat it.

This 25% less sodium version is fine though. It has the same amount of fat content as the regular Spam. It's just slightly less salty, which I actually prefer.

Pretty much, but even with 25% less sodium it still tastes plenty salty. I prefer this version because I like to cut thin slices and pan fry them up which seems to enhance the salty flavor, and with the original that makes it too salty.

Usually they'll substitute with potassium chloride which makes for a very similar flavor but much healthier end result. If you ask me every canned item should be manufactured this way but potassium chloride costs more money to use.

Indeed if you look at the ingredients potassium chloride is one of the ingredients. This makes me want to go to Costco today and hope they have some because I like to buy these when they end up on sale and store them in case of the Apocalypse LOL. This is an absolutely great item and great value to stockpile along with your carbohydrate because it's all fat and protein and provides a lot of calories for the price you're paying.
