I'm on simple choice, 1 line, unlimited everything and 2GB mobile hotspot, $47 a month after gov employee discount.
IF my plan only goes up $5 to $10 and I'm put on the magenta plan where i get 15gb mobile hotspot and Netflix... that doesn't seem like the worst deal ever to me. but i could be missing something here. and I am in the minority of beign only 1 line.
First NET sucks. I can tell you that.
the rep pushed the go5g rate plan
told him no.
asked about the $25 credit and he said it didn't exist but in the end applied it

I am thinking the same. I have SC NA 6 lines and 1 watch. Watch and 2 lines are free so $180 to migrate to Magenta, where I get Netflix. So really about $10 more/months to get rid of future increases in taxes and fees. Only thing is will TMO force us to migrate again in the future

T-Mobile is planning to force customers on the following plans to newer plans unless you opt out:
Magenta -> Go5G
One -> Go5G
Magenta 55+ -> Go5G 55+
Simple Choice / Select Choice -> Magenta or Essentials Select
Simple Choice Business -> Business Unlimited Advanced
Notifications about these changes begin to go out on the 17th to affected customers.
Customers will be moved to varying newer plans depending on the plan they are coming from.
Update: Plans that are not listed are NOT currently impacted. This includes premium variants of the listed plans, Sprint plans, etc. I've personally seen internal communications that confirm this.
Update 2 10/13/23: T-Mobile has hidden the SOC from the Services tab. It's now much more annoying to check if it's been applied. You can find new instructions for checking at this link. Side note: they're now calling it a "Gift" in the code name.

I'm already on Magenta and will be forced to Go5G. When they force you to Magenta, will they force you to Go5G? This makes no sense.
That's what I'm thinking. They will phase out Magenta eventually and force everyone to their newest plan
