Only the frame is Steel/Alumimim. Tabletop is MDF (Cannot hold much weight, chips, cannot withstand high heat). At that thickness it would break by an average dad karate chop lol.

While this may suck as an outdoor table it would probably make a great diy foldable little kids ping pong table. Ping pong balls don't weigh much and they bounce great off MDF (although aluminum is best). I've been looking for one and they all are $100+. The table is a little narrow even for a kids table but the adjustable height is plus for little ones.

At 1/4 the cost, plus 4 chairs I will give it a shot as a mini ping pong table for my 5 and 6 yo.

I owned this similar "walmart" table for a good 4+ years. Used it for beach/lake outgoing at least 5-7 times a year. It hold up just fine wo any problem. I cracked the top when overtighten with racheting rope of my car roof while having other gears on top. Otherwise, i dont see any problem with table top at all. This table is the cheapest but most useful gear for my outdoors stuff

Im still using the table up until now and will buy again once it's gone

Quote from dogstar1 :
How's the overall structure? Like would replacing the mdf with a decent grade sanded (and olied) plywood make this a decent unit?
You'll spend more than the unit costs..

If you want the mdf to last, it's really about not having spills. While that seems like a tall order, a bead of silicon around the aluminum edge adds a lot of protection. These are good for some more civilized sitting arrangements. Was great during higher covid times, and has been also good for park activities (setup lunch, etc).

However... It is a relatively bulky shape. Though flat, it is larger than most 3 row cars can fit easily, unless only using 2 rows. The stools are ok, don't expect any long term comfort, but they get the job done. Not meant for anyone with a booty.

so mines came with a crack on the table top MDF. Sending it back is a little hassle for 30 bucks... damn these careless shippers...
