I have this saw.- got it on a similar promo.

The build quality is very good, but in use, it stalls easily. The blade guard also hangs up on thin material far too easily. I'm good with all kinds of saws. This one is pretty slow and ineffective, while not offering a major size and weight advantage vs an m18 saws.

Earlier this week, for fun, my coworker and I each ran a cut list for about 20 two by braces -- he had this m12 fuel saw; I had a Japanese pull saw. I smoked him.

Its 1/2 the weight of the m18 fuel 5.3 vs 10.8 - seems like a major weight advantage.

Did you use the regular battery or high output? I saw some reviews before saying HO battery can be significant different in this saw.

A hand saw weighs 1/8th the weight and only runs out of juice when you do.. seems like a major advantage

Second this.

Even with the larger battery, this saw stalls far too easily just cutting a 2x4.

What are you talking about? The M12 FUEL 5 3/8" blade left is 5.35 lbs and the M18 FUEL 6 1/2" blade left is 6.8 lbs. 1.45 lbs is a FAR cry from twice the weight. Plus, the M18 FUEL one actually has enough power to cut more than balsa wood, so that's a plus. This saw is really only up to the absolute lightest tasks and I could never recommend it unless someone was dead set on staying ONLY in the M12 platform. It's DEFINITELY the best circular available for M12 šŸ˜‚

ETA - these are "bare tool" weights pulled directly from Milwaukee's site.

I have only used the 4.0 and 6.0 ah batteries with this saw, and it's been disappointing. If these are 'significantly better', I'd hate to be stuck on any project w 2.0s.

This is the saw that I hand to people who want to 'borrow a saw for a few minutes' bc I'd be big mad if somebody dropped or ruined the blade on my 18v.

šŸ’Æ I had it to loaned it out ended up telling the person I loaned it out to go ahead and
keep it. Way to underpowered for anything useful. Stalls all the time

Mine would stall on 2x4's with the 6.0, got a 5.0HO and no longer stalls.

I used this saw all day on Saturday cutting trim and shiplap, it didn't stall once.
