The reason for the clearance sale is because of the they updated the line. The only major change I noticed to hikelite 18 is they reinforced the bottom of the water bottle pockets. For comparison, the updated hikelite 18 is $120

At $38, it is roughly 70% off. At this price point, you won't find a better backpack. It is a no brainer imho.

I co-owned a photography business for a few years and still do minor hobby work, and having a pack that is specifically designed for camera work is fantastic.
