This table is designed to be used then folded away. If you're going to put a fish tank on it, why not just get a normal table?

And not a chance in hell I'd trust a 55gal fish tank to this.

At 8lbs per gallon, that's 440lbs of water without the weight of the tank and decor. It's probably not a good idea, you don't want all that water crashing…

Typo in the specs mistakenly says the top is 24" deep, reviews confirm it's 20" deep as the title says.

well if it were me, I would skip installing the piston this comes with (that makes the top fold down slowly) in the center and instead put a bracket [menards.com] there for piece of mind.

As I former insurance adjust I ask you to PLEASE not put a fish tank on this. Also I assume 1) you care about what's underneath it (maybe a neighbor) and 2) you care about the fish.

I agree with the others. No. It is not a good idea to use for a large aquarium. If you insist you will need to add corner legs:
