Agreed - 16 GB was the only reason i upgraded and worry less deleting cache on my 1st gen Max. other than that upgrade was not really noticeable - speed, viedo / audio quality.

I got the deal pop-up on my 2nd gen cube. I went to check the website on the computer, to see if it was there also, and it was. So I purchased via the computer.

I couldn't get it to stack either. I have 20% trade in from a 1st gen stick I did just before the new Max came out. It would only let me use the $20 discount.

Last time I did the trade In deal for echo show 8 gen 3, I was able to get a refund automatically for the percentage discount after they received my trade-in items. There was written agreement from amazon. I didn't see similar wording for the firetv Stick Max.
