Liners are more common in aluminum bottles since aluminum is reactive to certain liquids (stainless steel is non reactive so it doesn't need a liner).
What about bottles that have non-stick coatings containing PTFE like the Zojirushi bottles described here?

I also noticed Zojirushi also talks about salt corroding stainless steel and not to use dairy products in the bottles. So can I use salty/dairy beverages in this CamelBak bottle?
Q3: Can I fill my vacuum insulated mug with milk or carbonated drinks?
A: It is not recommended to fill the vacuum mug with any type of beverage containing dairy or carbonated drinks. Filling the vacuum mug with dairy can cause curdling and leave residual odors.

I apologize for the mistake I made in that comment of mine. I did not fully read the comment to which I was responding. I did not return the bottle to Amazon (in order to re-order at a cheaper price); that order has not arrived yet (was scheduled to arrive next week), so I simply cancelled it online, and re-ordered.
When I realized my mistake, I wrote the second post. It is on the first page of the comments, but it was heavily downvoted and became invisible by default - that's why you didn't see it.
