I recommend waiting until the 3000 lumen lights go on sale for the holidays. These are probably a bit underpowered for most utility applications.

BOTH ends of the cable are red. The charging port on the light is definitely USB-C.

I understand where your confusion comes from, but you are simply mistaken. The USB A end is for plugging into a charger brick or other power supply. The USB C end plugs into the light. This is not only just obviously how it's set up, but the manual also confirms this.
