With these, the problem is you have to open it up and clean itsy bitsy pieces, maybe deal with filters, and there is still possibility cat won't like it. However if you plan to travel, I would buy one to make sure cat has enough fresh water for few days even if you plan tk have someone stop by to take care of the cat.
