Both are working well. I like the ability to change my temps remotely from an Echo Dot or my phone. They have all the features I want or require. I've never had to reset or reboot them since my replacement arrived.
One caveat: Prior to installing them the first time, I measured the voltage of the blue C-wire. It measured 28v on my multimeter. But, they would not turn on. I finally called my HVAC guy. He was at my house immediately. He measured the same voltage and was perplexed as I was. After crawling up in my attic and hooking up the C-wires, the thermostats worked right away. He said I was getting an inductive voltage reading. A false reading. I tried to pay him, but he wouldn't take my money. He's a keeper.

There are MANY other choices in the $50 range. I personally still have an old honeywell as all the different versions use the SAME app for control. Amazon is already talking about how they can go about charging for alexa but what do I know...you do you.
It's silly to lock yourself into 1 provider for home automation. I'd prefer the OPTION to use apple home or home assistant. Amazon refuses to make it's devices cross compatible.
It's got a computer and a screen, it's wasted transistors for what it does, IOT or not.

My mistake. It was the wyze doorbell that was $29 @ woot. Now dead. https://slickdeals.net/f/16884395-refurb-wyze-smart-plug-cam-v2-cam-v3-doorbell-camera-and-more-starting-9-99-w-fs-for-prime-members?v=1
If you like honeywell (this is the one I use) which can also be controlled by alexa, google home etc the Used - Like New (says minor damage to the box) on Amazon is $36.02

Honeywell actually recommended quite a few of them, but this is what I ended up getting: Honeywell Home RENEWRTH9585WF Wi-Fi Smart Color Thermostat (Renewed). Since the support was so great when I was trying to get the Amazon one to work, I went with the renewed one. I also got it from Amazon Warehouse, almost brand new, and it came out to be around $60. Usually they are around $200. Use WRTH9585WF to see the reviews. Here's the link:

It literally showed up this week, so I haven't set it up yet. But I've found that if you search for "2 Heat / 2 Cool" on Amazon then it brings up quite a few options. Most are at $150-$200 though. I also thought about the Nest, which was $80 this week, but I've asked 3 HVAC techs and they all say they hate working on the Nest. They all like the Honeywell.
Hope that helps!
