I've found the thermostat significantly lacking in functionality compared to a nest (granted, nest is at a much higher price point). With this, you have three presets- home, away, and sleep. You get to set one temp for each of those and build your schedule around that... you can then adjust manually via echo devices or at the unit.
yeah. wyze is known for such great security, you won't be locked in at all. people from all over the world will be able to control your thermostat
I bought two of these last July 2022. One upstairs, one downstairs. Both were working fine for a few days, and then Amazon did a firmware update. The update bricked the downstairs one. After going through many levels of Amazon and Honeywell's CS over the next several days, Amazon finally sent me a replacement. I installed the replacement with no further issues.

Both are working well. I like the ability to change my temps remotely from an Echo Dot or my phone. They have all the features I want or require. I've never had to reset or reboot them since my replacement arrived.

One caveat: Prior to installing them the first time, I measured the voltage of the blue C-wire. It measured 28v on my multimeter. But, they would not turn on. I finally called my HVAC guy. He was at my house immediately. He measured the same voltage and was perplexed as I was. After crawling up in my attic and hooking up the C-wires, the thermostats worked right away. He said I was getting an inductive voltage reading. A false reading. I tried to pay him, but he wouldn't take my money. He's a keeper.

We also have this and like it. It's very simple but voice commands work well with our Alexas. I don't like having to use the Alexa app since it takes a few clicks and there isn't a widget at this point. Also no temp sensors (although it's possible to set up a routine using some of the Alexa's that have sensors). Overall a good deal for a reliable wifi thermostat.

Got this a few weeks ago at Target new for $34.
Should make money after $50 OG&E rebate.

No issues and I actually like the simple interface.
Also appreciate the circulate function for the Fan, especially in the fall. For some reason my other Honeywell Smart T-stat doesn't have that.

The Wyze thermostat has recently been around the same price...I'd get it since it's supported by both alexa and google home or apple.....I don't want to be locked into amazon.

I've had this for a bit. It's easy to install and has had no issues.

I would recommend it if you rarely adjust the temperature or want to always go off a schedule. If you don't fit that, such as those who want to sometimes turn on heat or ac to a certain temperature, stay away. It is super annoying in that case because the modes do not have an option to save temperature limits and always go back to the defaults (energy saving that are way off what anyone would use, IMO). That means, for example, if you sometimes want to turn on the ac to turn on when it hits 73*, you have to turn it to that mode (cooling), then adjust the temperature to 73. That's to say it won't save 73 as the limit in that mode so that the next time you turn it on to cooling, again you have to set the limit to 73.

I looked around for quite a while as I have a Lennox and the only one that could satisfy all the needs was an ecobee. I have a variable one, so even in two stage the Lennox will adjust the stages automatically (with a dip setting). The AC is 2 stage, it was pretty easy to setup. It also does the ventilator and humidifier (if that matters). I had to use 8-wire tho.

I'm assuming you spent $$$ on that setup, so maybe $200 for an ecobee makes sense. If Amazon is dumping these for $30 that likely means they are going to stop supporting it--or then start charging to use it. Either way its a lose lose.

I have one of these. It's not my favorite. I have an Ecobee as well that is much better.

Things I don't like. The AI features get it wrong, the interface on the device is way harder than the ecobee and you have to use the phone, the settings don't always stick right likes mins and maxes. When the internet goes out, sometimes it doesn't pick the Wifi up and needs restarted.
