I've had 2 of this exact scooter and have used it basically everyday for the last 6 or so months. For $200 this is a no brainer, especially if it's your first electric scooter. It's a good product, i will say, after 3 months, and changing the back tire inner tube 3 times, I decided to trade in and get a new one. I've had this new one for about a month and it's really just awesome toy. I will be honest, and after owning one for this long, I'm desiring more power recently. But, I bring my 5 year old son along, and he stands and holds onto the handlebars. You can fold this thing up, pop it in the car, and basically have like a 10 mile range from your vehicle. I live in a hilly area, and want more power for some steeper hills. You can full throttle and push the scooter with your feet up steep hills, and it's nice having the assistance, but for really not enough once you reach a certain angle. This is the lowest price ive seen, I would definitely opt in for the warranty. Doubt the battery would last that long under heavy use. Another thing about this scooter, is it's completely silent, even full throttle, and it's profile is so sleek, it's hard to tell if there's a battery compartment. My wife has a 500w from a different company, believe this is a 250w, but hers is loud, and beefy. It's definitely faster though, hers has 3 gears and gets up to 24mph, but it was $200 more. Another thing that's great is its cruise control. You can set it full throttle, or going 2mph. I'll walk with people sometimes, just creeping along, but it's great being able to lock it at a slow speed. I bought this thing completely on a whim and have been so happy I did.

That's why the 3 year warranty for $22 makes sense imo.

I think you currently need a drivers license to use an e-scooter in Japan, as they're classified as a motorcycle (I think until next year?).

$200 is inexpensive, but generally speaking, you should have a minimum of 350 watts. 500 watts is much better especially if you have any hills.

But he's a Honda man, so I'm sure he's hip to this caveat. Jk

Its a shame they make things like this with such a limited range. If the manufacturer spent $20 more in cells, then they can double the range.

It's actually not that limited of a range for a $200 scooter. The previous front page deal listed only had a 7 mile range listed, so this is nearly double - even if the claimed ranges are much shorter in actual use.

I agree that if $20 more can be spent on cells to double the range, it's a shame we don't have to option to spend $220 and have 24 miles range.

Of course, that would also mean about 7 lbs more weight so it would weigh 33 lbs instead of 26 lbs. For some people, that would be a deal breaker.

These GoTrax scooters are fun but more like toys than commuter scooters. Great "Segway" into more serious entry-level scooters.

My GoTrax G2 $200 scooter had the most atrocious brakes so please be careful going down hills.

If you can carry 26 lbs for a couple of blocks, up and down stairs without a problem then it should be fine imo. I haven't taken a scooter on a subway yet, but I would not hesitate to do so if needed.

I've taken a much larger scooter into a movie theater, and no one even seemed to notice. I did position it somewhat behind my body while walking to hide it though. laugh out loud
