4.85 pounds vs 3.76 pounds.
You can see details here for the P16s:

And here for the P16v:

From a workstation perspective, and not a portability perspective, I completely agree. The P16v is a much better buy, which is why I went with it.

Here's an example of an RTX A2000 for a different Thinkpad model (P17):

Assuming the GPU is on a card, that doesn't mean it's swappable to a different model. There could be lockouts since thermals and power delivery are a concern in such a cramped form factor like a laptop.

I went through this last year, buying then returning a machine from costco - 12700h, 3050, 512gb/16gb. That machine eventually went down, but after upgrading ram to 32gb/ssd to 1tb, price would be ~$150 more, around $1300, give or take. $1300 today is worth less than $1300 last year
Future expandability is important. 32GB is plenty sufficient today, and tomorrow. Having 2 m.2's is valueable as is the usb expansion.

I thought my Legion 7 was big, this P16V is girthy all around. Actually a really tight fit in my Filson Journeyman backpack.
Definitely happy with it though, I no longer look like a joke in business meetings when my Legion 7's RGB decided to go full rainbow effect on its own, despite repeatedly disabling the RGB lighting.
