Have the 3070 version of this laptop for the past two years. Hardly ever use the laptop screen for gaming.

How's the CPU compared to Intel offerings? Does anyone know how the cooling system performs? Is it a liquid metal paste?
Intel might be little faster but crappier battery and intel runs way too hot when compared to AMD

got it down to $1193 with id.me

I just wish that the i7 version was as cheap. The i7 cpu is much faster on multicore benchmarks than the ryzen
were you able to checkout with that price?

Had the same laptop before selling to help pay for current desktop rig. Hooked it up to a 4k OLED tv. Was awesome.

Agree but I would value battery life and heat more than tb4

Yep either one is good and it's a great deal. You can also try to chat with sales reps to try to replicate the deal and they may offer 32 GB ram (YMMV).

I can never understand how people pick laptops without considering reliability and warranty. Just the idea that something could go wrong six months from now and brick some obscure component which results in the entire laptop not working, having to send it in for repair for potentially weeks, and going through all that hassle.. macbooks are the only ones I know that have very strong reliability.

I wanted to get a razer blade but all the talk of warranty/reliability issues, how do people just decide on one? Is it a gamble or what?
The probability of your laptop dying are very small, it's just that when it happens people are very vocal about it. And if it does happen, returning / getting a repair is usually not some crazy nightmare. The stories you hear are a fraction of a fraction.
