For background - This is one of the high-end 4070 TI models which includes an upgraded cooler, higher quality components, a higher power limit (more OC headroom), and a 4 year factory warranty [aorus.com]. These typically go for ~$150 more than other models, so this seems like a great deal with the free game.

Add AORUS GeForce RTX 4070 TI [newegg.com] to cart.
  • Code VGAEXCGBET529 will be applied automatically for $30 off.
  • Alan Wake 2 will be added automatically.
Total: $799.99

This is on sale. Smilie This card is usually $950-ish. Note that the lowest used (no warranty or game included) price is currently $881 on Amazon. https://a.co/d/iUVdl5I

True. I bought Sapphire Nitro+ RX 7900 XTX at $980 from amazon. Pretty much the best graphics card from AMD within a thousand dollar!

Twice the memory makes a huge difference with that 7900 xtx. This is only a good deal if you have a hard on for ray tracing.

7900 has no ray tracing or dlss.

Ray tracing gives way better image quality.

FPS isn't everything.
LOL. 7900 does have ray tracing. And you do realize DLSS is an upscaler, and the goal is not to have to use it in order to get playable frame rates.

Sorry, what I mean is, AMD's ray tracing is not as good as Nvidia's.

Someone who doesnt want to upgrade power supply, nor pay the hundreds more in the long run from the 75watts extra the 7900xtx draws. Or someone that likes ray tracing

It's crazy what a price leap the ti is over the 4070. I am really hoping the 4070 can get down to $450 this black friday or if the 7700XT can get below 400.

Yeah, as much as I hate how Nvidia makes their tech proprietary, it is clearly better. With the 4000 series. You can get some pretty solid ray tracing without a huge hit to performance... not a light hit by any means... but it used to cut your framerate by half.

When comparing the 4080 vs 7900 XTX Nvidia is better at RT no doubt. I personally do not use as to get playable from rates I have to enable DLSS and that softens the images since it is upscaling. However, when comparing to the 4070ti the 7900XTX looks to be better in at ray tracing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tf00pWk_eIk. Keep in mind this video uses upscaling, so not a native resolution comparison since RT without FSR or DLSS is difficult for all cards.

Edit: Actually they did include native resolution testing and the 7900XTX, at least in this video, does beat out the 4070ti in RT at native without upscaling as well.

This card is overpriced. 7900xt or even the xtx would be the better buy at this price point. Good thing for competition

the xtx isn't the competitor to the 4070ti..that would be the 7900xt.
the xtx would kill a 4070ti..they're not in the same class

or someone that loves getting ripped off..
you can undervolt the amd cards and they perform even better undervolted.
Hundreds more in the long run for 75w? It'll cost like 30$ for a year, 24/7, 365 days..
And xtx does ray tracing better than a 4070ti anyway..
The xtx is a much more powerful card
